Considering they're in a colder climate than we are and one of the coasters they'll be running is their B&M Invert, I'd say there's a pretty good chance we'll be able to ride all three B&M's in December. :D

Dollywood run's Wild Eagle all the way through December without any issues. Of course it will close early or not open until later in the day if the temps are an issue. I think 38°-40° is the lowest temp for a B&M to continue operating once open but it has to be a little higher than that to actually open in the mornings.

^^ You are correct it made it up to 65 degrees BUT... when I rode Fury opening weekend morning, I think the temperature was 48. I had on my winter ski jacket. Let me tell you.. a 95 mph, 48 degree breeze is COLD! Loved it though. (Is why I rode again!!!)

That afternoon, I was in a t-shirt. Weather was weird that weekend.

not really, it was 45 over night and early morning. It was 65F by mid day.

My mistake. I only visited on Preview Day and Late in the Afternoon/Evening on Opening Day.

And Busch Gardens has operated Griffon and I believe Alpengeist as well during their event. On opening day for Fury it took a couple hours after opening for it to get going while they were waiting for the temperature to hit the minimum. Anyone remember what that minimum was? I believe it was 40.

This doesn't help with the discussion of minimum operating temperatures for certain coasters, but I use this site for historical climate data as reported from the airport for one of my tasks at work:

http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/cdo-web/datase ... 881/detail

I believe if you pull up March 2015 you'll see that on Saturday 3/28/15 the minimum was 34 and the maximum was 51. Unfortunately I don't know how to access hourly data.

The Fury thread is very helpful for looking back at the cold Saturday morning and the delay in opening the ride. I found this post from Jonathan about a 40 degree minimum: viewtopic.php?p=74568#p74568

Just sitting here looking at the photo of my first ride on Fury in my big winter ski jacket. The other people around me look positively frozen... lol. The weather channel on my phone said the temp was 48 in Charlotte at the time (I assume from the weather station at the airport). I remember a delayed opening.

I had my hands in the air, red face, and loving it. But, MAN, it was COLD!

On Fury's opening day I waited about 5 hours, 2.5 of which was waiting for it to warm up enough to run the ride. The employees there said that it had to be above 40, and at about the time it hit 42 they started testing.

Glad to see construction starting even though they said it wasnt going to be removed...never rode that slide anyway. I do hope they move the camera to see construction.
