Does anyone have anything confirmed on the Cyclone getting added supports. I know I saw the lines and words painted on her but wondered if they have started on that project or is something else being done?

I noticied the same thing. Does anyone have a clue what is going on.

Yes, they are preventing our favorite Arrow Corkscrew  from ripping it's self to pieces. They are adding gussets to hold the track to the supports.

^And I think that Loch Ness Monster just might be a little better than CC. lol.

Why do they have to add new supports?

So the ride doesn't have to be removed. The ride's wear and tear is starting to cause the ride to fall apart. Or you could say the supports are too stressed, and they are relieving it.

And also if you've ever noticed, Carolina Cyclone is not held together by the normal nuts and bolts keeping it together like all steel coaster do now.

They welded that bad boy together! :D I never even paid much attention to it until Max told me that at C3. Kind of scary when you think about it.

Come on please don't fall apart before we get through the corks! lol

And as far as favorite Arrow loopers, Loch Ness Monster and Drachenfire have that honor from me.

Although I wonder if that will change next year when I get to finally ride Viper at Magic Mountain. I doubt it though.

Nothing like glow in the dark Drachenfire trains. RIP :(

Mine too!

(Hope you weren't being sarcastic)

I even got one of those Big Head pictures drawn at BGW with me on Drachen Fire. The guy drawing it thought I was nuts saying it was my favorite coaster at the time.

Still never fully understood why it stayed closed so long. Operating costs? Eagles? Structure problems? I mean if you have it, run it... right? I guess not, since they never did.

Carolinia Cyclone is an aging coaster and showing it. This is a sign that they are going to keep it around as long as they can, because this coaster has lot of history to it by being the first four inversion coaster,( Which is a gaint step in coaster history to me)

From what I remember of the whole situation, there were rumors that BGW was going to be sued because of an injury on the coaster.

It's my theory that the people settled out of court as long as the coaster was sold or scrapped.

I believe that it was for sale on a website, but no one wanted it. Maybe due to the law suit.

Very sad. People can be so rediculous. I have very fond memories of headbanging on Drachenfire. lol And riding the corkscrew that was later removed before the rest of the track was scrapped about 3 years before it's demise.

And as I said before, the coolest thing was walking up to it in the dark and seeing that flash of orange in a pitch black night. I wonder why noone ever did that again on a train? <_<

If I'm not mistaken, wasn't Tennesse Tornado also built by Arrow. Becuase if it is, then CC and TT are tossupS as my favorite Arrow coaster that I HAVE RIDDEN!
