Soaring above the Denver skyline comes one of the tallest rides in Colorado. Star Flyer, a ride so high it will leave you gasping for air! On this extreme swing ride, 48 guests sit two across in open-air seats, feet dangling and hair blowing, ascending to the top of the 17 story tower while flying round and round.

New in 2017 at Dollywood
In 2017 Dollywood will offer even more fun for families at our Smoky Mountain destination. With three new attractions and two new special events everyone in the family is sure to find something that makes their day memorable in 2017.

Drop Line at Dollywood
New in Summer 2017, Drop Line is a 200-foot tall free-fall experience that towers over Timber Canyon and provides an incredible view of the park before its exhilarating finish. The drop tower ride lifts Dollywood guests nearly 20 stories above the Canyon’s pool, before plummeting them back to the ground in a thrilling rush.

Whistle Punk Chaser at Dollywood

Whistle Punk Chaser, a new junior coaster opening in Summer 2017, throws thrilling twists and turns at Dollywood’s younger loggers, helping prepare them for the day they can join their parents aboard the award-winning Thunderhead wooden coaster.

New Special Events at Dollywood

Two new events will join our family festivals in 2017. Just in time for families enjoying spring break, the park will introduce enra, a Tokyo-based dance company which was featured on America’s Got Talent in 2015. The group wowed audiences with their high-energy multi-media dance, light and video fusion show.

Also, for the first time ever Dollywood will be opening during the evening in October to welcome the spectacular GREAT Pumpkin LumiNights event alongside the Southern Gospel Jubilee to our Harvest Festival. This nighttime event immerses families in fabulous fall pumpkin illumination.

Of course all in addition to Tailspin Racer at Dollywood's Splash Country.

Drop Line is indeed from Fun Time. Whistle Punk Chaser is a Zamperla Gravity Coaster.

I might be able to pick up four new credits when/if I go back to Dollywood! :D

The new tower looks like a great addition too, but the mat racer still looks like the main event.

Something tells me that Whistle Punk Chaser was s last minute addition to encourage some of the season passholders families from this year to buy into next year since so many people are complaining about Lightning Rod's issues.

I can't imagine where they can add it to Timber Canyon at since that area is sandwiched between Thunderhead and a mountain.

So insanely happy to see a drop tower at Dollywood. The main problem I noticed with the park when I went a few weeks ago was the lack of good/large flat rides. Barnstormer is awesome, but that's about it as far as massive flat rides go. Also good to see them finally make use of Timber Tower's old spot. The junior coaster wasn't really needed in my opinion, but still a good addition.

Now that I look over a satellite view of the park, I'm thinking the water play area next to the kids playground area by Thunderhead is where Whistle Punk Chaser will go. It's probably the only place it can go realistically.

Busch Gardens' latest coaster, InvadR, appeals to ride enthusiasts

"It really is going to be exciting," Cheely said. "Coaster lovers will love the ride. Families too."

At 2,000 feet long, InvadR will feature a 74-foot drop and twist around Le Scoot log flume.

The park also has developed a system for the roller coaster to make less noise than a typical wooden contraption, according to Shelton.

The height requirement will be 46 inches, shorter than the majority of coasters at Busch Gardens.
