I was at the park today to check out the construction and to get a few last rides on Fury. for some reason they didnt tear down the station for the waterslide.... yet... and the last 2 pieces are still at the bottom (where you drop into the pool). Do you think they will rebuild it right where its at just going in a different direction? They ddint fill in the pool as of yet. They may take the rest down next week, I just thought it was odd they left it up. Cant wait to see this area transform into county fair!

Yea probaly. I just think its strange they left it.... Maybe they are going to re-use it. As of today its still standing. Guess we will see by the end of the week.

I would think these things just take time to disassemble safely unless they throw an army of personnel at it, but the employees have been busy with the park open. Now that the park is closed for the season we'll see things pick up.

This is a little off subject for the new County Fair area but in relation to Goldrusher I think the entire boardwalk area should be re-themed back to a Blue-Ridge theme. Outer Hanks is gone, no beach music and other than the walk, a small lighthouse and Ricochet it could be a simple change. Then the original Country Fair area could be re-themed into the Boardwalk area. Most existing rides remind me of Myrtle Beach, Dodgems, a pirate ship, game stands, etc. Heck even Afterburn works with all the military air stations along the coast in North and South Carolina. And that area is next to Carolina Harbor. Then you could add themed rides in the future. That's my 2 cents.

I agree completely, ricochet would not be hard to retheme. I always love BRJ and you are so right about the old County Fair does indeed look more like a boardwalk and would make great sense.

Down with the slide! It would be cool if they imploded the tower! I am enjoying this removal, I can't wait to ride the Wave Swinger!

Thunder Road . . . there.
