Ever since the opening of Top Gun, it has been sort of a goal (so to speak) for Carowinds to break the 2 million mark. The park really thought they would do the inevitable that year but sadly they did not. Attendance figures play such a prominent role in park status, and we all know that more people also equals more dollars, and more things for us all to have fun on. So, in short, it does matter if we want to continue to see great attractions being added.
