General Carowinds discussion

Thanks Edwardo...I'll check it out.

Also, if that "YUGE" dugout circle by Splashworks is the base for Electro-Spin, thats gonna be a greatly expanded midway not seen on the rendering.
Or, they decided to switch the location of the two flats and have Zephyr there instead.
I dunno

KIJester wrote:So after watching a few Mondial Top Scan vids on YouTube, I made a few observations....
1) All the vids were of parks or fairs in Germany or the UK
2) All Top Scan models play very loud dance music to heighten the experience.
3) They ALL have very impressive LED lighting packages
4) All of the ride times were around 2-4 minutes depending on which fair or park they were in.
and
5) they all seem to be spinning at a relatively fast pace.

Do we (enthusiasts, not necessarily the GP) have any indication that Cedar Fair will be applying all of the above to the four new rides coming in 2017? Just curious...

Well let me kind of help here. Yes top scans are generally in traveling fairs and carnivals. There are only 2 I think permanent models is North America this far, one at Canada's Wonderland and another in the USA. Carowinds and Knotts Berry Farms will have the next 2 permanent models making it 3 in the USA. As for how they will run it? Just remove the loud dance music and it will probably be at the lower end of ride time to increase capacity. There's your Cedar Fair version or like Ed said just look up Shockwave at Canada's Wonderland.

Yep....
The giant hole in the ground now appears to have a square footer. I believe this will be the start of Electro Spin.
Edit: didn't quote the attachment so I added a more recent one.

Not trying to bring up a sore subject or stir the pot, but did anyone notice "this" in the County Fair renderings and if so, what are your thoughts? Seems to be in both day and night versions.
Also, am I correct in that these renderings were created well after the demise of TR and CF is teasing of something on the horizon?

Problem is while it is a fairly logically place where Thunder Road would be, there are multiple slide towers between where Thunder Road was and the Wave Swinger.

That said, my first thought was Whitewater Falls but it more closely looks like a wooden coaster than Whitewater. Could It be a hint towards 2018, very unlikely; 2018 will likely be the last season for Vortex. 2019 I reserve for Planet Snoopy and 2020 is the first year I would expect a new coaster.

I suspect that Thunder Road's fate was long sealed before the art for the new County Fair was even in planning, so if the drawing is anything at all I think it is probably just the Artist sneaking Thunder Road in to pay respect to Thunder Road or to peacefully protest Thunder Road's fate.

I don't see anything . . .

Um....that's Woodstock Express...lol You can see Windseeker in the rendering (circled in blue below) and just to the right in the distance is Woodstock Express. Thunder Road would be way more to the right (for those saying it may just be TR).
