General Carowinds discussion

Jarvis I know you are so over us with the LED issue. I'm just tired of Carowinds being a dark park. It''s more to it then just shining flood lights towards a ride. i.e. drop zone, slingshot, cobra. Atmosphere is everything and this new section could take extreme advantages here.

These four new "carny" rides are suppose to look mesmerizing and should be a visual overload or gaudy as Capler said. The wave swinger's light package is bright as hell yet retarded. All the others in the chain at least blink white to red. Carowinds have a steady white light package going on. I'd prefer a package as such. Maxtron LED upgrade Wave Swinger but who am I.

The troika as we see it now has the original light package which is the red "brake" lights on the back of each car. I don't even think there are lights on the bottom of each car either. Will Mustang Runner at WoF look like ours as well? We all know what the others in the chain look like King's Island.

The top scan. I've spoken about this ride so much. I don't know what else I could conjure up at the moment. Top Scan. As far as we know with Electro Spin, the back of the seats and the bottom white lights will be the only things that will be lit. They can throw in the fog machine if you ask me. The light panels that goes on the actual body are still under Fury is what I'm understanding.

The musik express, for what we know, has a decent package so I won't say too much about it except I hope it goes backwards as well . If I did have it my way this would be my ideal Musik express Musik Express. I'm all about doing things to set the park apart from the others.

To wrap things up, I personally think this new county fair section should be almost equal to what Cedar Point's Gemini Midway look like, flashy and mesmerizing. Now I do feel like they are just trying to get everything up and running for preview night and opening day then with in the following two weeks, they will add the lights and whatever finishing touches they need to before the spring break week operations. I do hope they add carny lights to the food and drink stalls in the area as well. Hopefully the string lighting for the area is still in play.

Thanks for reading my essay.

Sounds like you are setting your self up for major dissapointment. We often try to make every park like every park instead of enjoying what the park has to offer. When it comes down to spending money, I would prefer the park to spend it on rides vs asthetics. If I want asthetics, I go to universal. If I want lights, i'll go to winterfest  . But thats just me . . .

...and if you want a ride that works, you don't buy it from Craigslist Europe. :D

We don't even know if the rides are having problems. I'll admit that Electro Spin is worrying me at the moment but the other three have been testing just fine.

I'm excited to go to Carowinds and finally ride the rides and see the new County Fair. I think everything's ready except for Electro-spin. E-S has been worrying me for the past few days. I hope they do some last minute finishing touches and help E-S and at least put some paint on it. While I'm watching the camera as I type they are doing something to E-S, but I don't know what they're doing. I just hope at least 90% of everything will be ready for Friday night and Opening Day, but I hope everything is open meaning shops, restaurants, and rides, of course.

P.S. Are they sticking to the idea of the overhead string lights or not? I don't know if it's me, but I can't see them.

Carowinds is still advertising season pass preview day as having all four new rides open, so hopefully theres still a chance all four will be open. Now as someone brought off earlier about the unfinished areas being roped off, I still don't see that as logical because on camera that area seems to cut off the entrance to cobra which will definitely be open, so I'm still confused on if they will finish that or not.
