Not a surprise. I knew all those markings were for something. Makes me believe even more that chance rides will be one of the manuf. of some new rides in the kiddie area, maybe even the return of GR8 Sk8. I really do hope they re-do some of the parking lot though. And with the likelihood of a hotel.... I wonder where they would build it and if that road they were cutting beside where the camp wilderness bus went has anything to do with that at all. I havent seen that path this year so I dont know if they paved it and made it a new road or not....

Ah I see. I didnt know what it was going to be. It was just wide when I walked down it and I figured it was a new seperate road for the tram to the campground.....

Just saying they would want all attention to CP. they normally don't build big coasters at more then 1 park at a time generally. Its happed I know but this is different. 150 year anniversary.

What they do at CP has no impact on Carowinds. Capital investments are doled out based on park needs and performance. And you do realize the company is getting four new coasters next year, right?

You understand its not everyday a park turns 150 years old. I am sure something big is planned. I know 4 coasters are planned this year. All I am saying is don't bank on Carowinds getting a coaster in 2020. More like 2019.

As I said in my last post. It's not everyday a park turns 150 years old. They are going to celebrate trust me.

What makes you think them.cekebrating means other parks aren't going to get capital? It's a business. They want every park to be as profitable as possible.

Trust me.

I get that but I am just stating I don't see you getting a coaster there in 2020. Just my own opinion. I am not sure you wont get one. In fact I hope you do. I just seeing being in 2019 or 2021. 150 years is a big deal. Wait till Carowinds hits 150 years! I am not saying they won't get capitol. I am saying it might not be coaster in 2020 that's all.

The only time I can remember a park adding coasters as an anniversary celebration was when Magic Mountain added three in 2011 for their 40th anniversary. Even then, that was mainly a gimmick. Really only two "new" coasters were added, one being a relocated kids coaster and the other having less than 1,000 feet of track length.

All KD did was add some singing mustachioed mushrooms and Carowinds put a banner up for 40 years. I'm sure Cedar Point will do something for 150 years, but I'm really skeptical if it'll be a coaster. They've added two and converted two more in five years.

Stop thinking like an enthusiast. They'll do what they always do, market parks the way they plan to, and spread out Cap ex.

Cedar Point can have a big anniversary and it's not going to affect any park other than cedar point.

I guess only time will tell. What make you so right about it anyway? Are you employed by Cedar Fair? haha You take things too seriously. People can have opinions. Who cares what they are. Its my opinion that in 2020 Carowinds will not get a coaster but rather 2019 or 2021.

I wouldn't count on Cedar Point getting a coaster for there 150th however it's not out of the question. They are going to do what attracts families and adding a huge coaster isn't doing that. Besides, They always add new coasters, It wouldn't be a huge source of revenue.

Actually revenue goes up everytime they add a coaster.
