You do have a point since there isn't a permit explicitly filed for a Vortex conversion, but the renovation permit raises a few questions. That and all of the markings throughout the Showplace.

[EDIT] Didn't want to double post, but these permits for the Camp Snoopy project seem to go into more detail than the original one:

So will we be getting two new bathrooms in 2017 or are these permits for the same building?

Note that the bathhouse permit says demolition of existing restrooms and construction of new restroom. The restroom says a new restroom; so what about that changing room and splash pad?

5 pages ago coasterbruh wrote:Why is it so hard for you all to believe the bathhouse permit is for a BATHHOUSE?!?!? Do you know how excited for parents who don't want the hustle and bustle of the water park would be about a water area for their kids and a place to properly change their clothes outside of a bathroom? And one thing we are forgetting is the water park is seasonal. Meaning it's only from may till basically the end of august. It is still warm starting in april through september. You can still have an activity play/pad still open during the times the water park isn't available.

Or perhaps it could be just one permit for demolition of the current restrooms and the other is for . . . I dunno, maybe a new 1,879 SF restroom facility :shh: :silent: ????

At any rate, we will find out in a month or so . . .

Sometimes a wrench is thrown in the mix sprinkled with the truth.  8)

I think it speaks volumes that Carowinds is getting a "Camp Snoopy" expansion. The only other Cedar Fair parks who don't call their kiddie section "Planet Snoopy" are Cedar Point and Knott's Berry Farm (IIRC). Hopefully this is a sign that Cedar Fair is really dedicated to continuing to turn Carowinds into more of a destination park, with lots of personalized theming rather than just generic amusement park-style fun.

'Camp' feels much more in-line with the Carolina region theme (and the Knott's theme, for that matter) than 'Planet', though both are obviously aren't too specific to any particular park. I'm not certain this was part of their rationalization for changing the name (if that's even going to happen at all), but it was just a thought I had. Maybe I'm just overthinking things...

^ I don't think your overthinking things. It's like Carolina Harbor, It has its own theme unlike the other water parks in the chain (excluding cedar shores) I gladly welcome this camp retheme, Planet Snoopy has a very light theme and it doesn't flow. It's much needed.

There is a Camp Snoopy at Cedar Point.

https://www.cedarpoint.com/play/rides/woodstocks-airmail

Located in Camp Snoopy, it has all of the ups, downs and thrills of Power Tower, but on a much smaller scale; not as high, not as fast and totally suitable for little kids. Kickstart your ride with a liftoff. As Woodstock’s Airmail lifts you into the sky, you’ll see awesome views of Camp Snoopy right before bringing you safely back to earth.

What I think we're getting as far as Camp Snoopy goes:

This seems to be a common ride with kids area expansions in the CF chain.

Since that Breakdance hasn't gone anywhere yet....

Not quite Gr8 Sk8 but I'll take it.

[EDIT] I almost forgot Image

^ 5 "new" rides? That's pretty ambitious!

No, what he was saying is that the ones that don't call it Planet Snoopy (or snoop town  ) were knotts and cedar point.

Clearly I misunderstood.

To add to what Tarheel1231 mentioned, Cedar Point has a Planet Snoopy, a Camp Snoopy, and a Kiddie Kingdom - 3 kids areas.

I agree with everything except the Breakdance. Everything else seems spot on. However I would rather see Kings Islands version of the kids drop tower instead . If by chance there is a, "Breakdance ride," somewhere, place it in yoyo's spot. Perfect fit with a decent sized que line already in place.
