General Carowinds discussion

I thought that too at first since the ride in the blueprints and Dodgem's both have the same shape. But there are too many markings around the carousel in PS. That, and I don't think they're relocating the actual structure along with the ride. They'll probably demolish the current carousel's structure and build a new one when it's in its new location.

It's still in the same spot on those plans.

They did take a beautiful, stunning park full of water features and turn it into a rather bland park with not many special scenic areas. I guess there is still the covered bridge/Hanna-Barbera area waterfalls that survived....

I'm torn between whether it will be the carousel or Dodgem. On the one hand, with the markings around the carousel and the expected renovation of Planet Snoopy, the carousel seems obvious.

On the other hand, there have been markings around Dodgem in the past and moving that ride would continue to free up a good chunk of space for a potential big 2019 addition.

Either way, it's about time that area of the park got a little more life.

Bumper cars too big. Carousel fits perfectly.

The more I think about it the more sense it makes to me. The Carowinds carousel has always seemed a bit tucked away. Just off the top of my head I recall that Cedar Point, Kings Dominion, and Great America have their carousels outside the kids area. The thinking may be that as a traditional amusement park staple for all ages it might be fitting to give it a more central location.
