General Carowinds discussion

personally, moving the carousel to that area and not further up into county fair would seem odd. The bumper cars are fairly old so the existing structure could change if it were relocating. With the removal of WWF, removing the bumper cars increases the land in that area for whatever attraction they are planning.

The bumper cars could certainly move into a new, smaller structure, but at that size it really doesn't seem like there would be much space to drive around. I don't think it's a coincidence that the existing carousel building seems to fit nicely.

One thing that's odd about the blueprints is that they show one of the planters cutting off the current midway games, but they don't seem to call for their removal. I would assume that with the planter in the way, they would be demolished as well. I guess we'll know in a week.

I'm just really excited to see how the renovated areas turn out next year. Between Carolina Harbor, Plants vs. Zombies, and the new County Fair, Cedar Fair has shown that they can pull off cohesive, themed areas even on a budget. Planet Snoopy is already one of the best looking areas IMO since it has the most landscaping, and next year, it'll have a theme to compliment its surroundings. Carolina Showplace is one of the several areas in the park that doesn't really stand out on its own, and it feels more like a midway than a section of the park. I can't wait to see what other changes they have in store for it next year.

The more I look at it, the existing carousel doesn't seem to completely fit within the dimensions of the proposed building either. The diameter of the new building appears to be around 70 to 75 feet while the carousel is approximately 95 and Dodgem is 115.

Now I've just confused myself. Back to waiting and watching.

And I am very curious regarding the replacement attraction for this area. Although it may be 2019 or later. Usually big new coasters are every 5 years, although it could be something else.

Just throwing ideas around here, is there any chance that the carousel is staying put and that Dodgems are being relocated? If the park is looking at putting an attraction (say, a coaster?) in the WWF plot in the future, it would make sense to go ahead and move Dodgems if this was the case.

maybe relocate drop tower? and then that spot be used for the RMC hurler coming in the future? the only other thing I can thing of is scrambler, because its just kinda in a weird spot.
