According to the investor presentation about Carowinds, they have about 100 acres available for future expansion (page 12).

I could honestly see them announcing it next year for a 2019 opening...since that would be the earliest it would open anyway.

“Management expects to announce details on branded flagged hotel properties in Toronto and Charlotte by year-end 2017,” wrote Tim Conder, an analyst at Wells Fargo, in a note to clients after a recent trip to Canada’s Wonderland.

But then . . .

“We have identified Canada's Wonderland as a desirable location where we are considering expanding our resort accommodations,” a Cedar Fair spokesperson told BNN via email. “However, no announcements have been made at this time.”

After more "research" I came to the conclusion I should take that statement with a half grain of salt as far as year end 2017 . . . At least for Carowinds.

I read that article. They mentioned that they identified Canada's Wonderland as a spot because it was a Canadian News Paper. If it were an interview in Carowinds he would've mentioned that Carowinds might be a spot for a Hotel. I know a Hotel is coming, the question is when are the announcing it.

Are you sure what you saw wasn't parking for the PGA Tour?

I saw some work being done on Friday. It was not related to the PGA parking. PGA parking was near the South Gate.

They haven't even gotten city council approval yet, so it's probably not for the hotel that may be a few years off.

The rezoning was approved. If the rezoning was approved does the project need to be approved? They mentioned that they would be building a Hotel on the property and City Council approved it.
