It was destroyed. It had actually been on sale for the past two years, but nobody wanted it because it was so old and the trough wasn't in the best shape.

The logs were sold to another park, though I'm not sure which one.

The control panel was given as a gift to one of Dollywood's former GMs. He plans to wire it up so it can control his model train layout!

I've talked to several DW employees that were there when the flume came down. They hooked a bulldozer to the main hill and pulled it over without much effort. I guess that shows how bad off it actually was. :(

I found this picture on a different forum:

The ride was probably doomed as far back as 12 years ago. In 1993 when the park updated Fun Country in to the Country Fair, they had to do a massive renovation on the flume to keep it operable. I guess DW didn't want to spend a lot of money on it again...

^^ Great find! I still wish DW could've found a way to keep their Mine Train. My first visit to DW was in 1995 when I was on my way to Holiday Worlds first official Stark Raven Mad. We stopped at DW on a whim mainly to ride the Mine Train and Blazing Fury. I took POV video from the front and back seat that I will always treasure. That was a great little coaster!! It had 3 lift hills and some great terrain runs. I love Tennessee Tornado but I still hate that DW had to give up their Mine Train to add it. I am glad that it found a new home in Arkansas. Just my 2¢.

The way that log flume looked, I can say that it had its days.

I really think the Thunder Express Mine Train matched Dollywood well. Imagine, if the park still had it, plus TT and Thunderhead, there would be a pretty good little coaster lineup.

I got several rides on TE on it's last day of operation at DW, which was Sep. 7, 1998. I didn't know it was going to be it's last day, but the tram operators were annoucing it on the way to the entrance from the parking lot. That was pretty lucky for me...

Maybe one day I can get out to Magic Springs to ride it at it's new home.

I'm almost afraid to ask this, but is Blazing Fury still there?

Yes, Old Blazin Fury is there and I think will be there for quite some time. That is one of my favorite indoor coasters. BTW: I like the themeing of it. :D

Also I noticied that they took out some TT props and put and arcade under there. They used to have a tornado machine there, in that area. :(

Well, they really just turned part of TT's unused que line into the arcade, so I really don't conider that to be a loss.

The tornado machine was cool though. They should have moved that somewhere else. :(

^^ Or how about Veggieterrain coaster... The world's first terrain coaster for kids!

All I can say in regard to the country fair flume is that I'm glad I rode it last year!!!

That thing got you a lot wetter than most flumes do. I was very surprised.

It was a fun little flume, I hate that no one wanted it.

But it was short, so probably no park wanted one that short.

Well, after Daredevil Falls opened, I knew the Fair Flumes days were numbered. It hung around longer than I thought actually.

Yes,I would think veggie tales would be a bad theme but kids like them.
