Got the latest set of construction photos today. I put them in one of my folders (Nick Central 2005 Construction) on Yahoo if you want to see them.

In case you haven't guessed, the WHOLE area is indeed called Nick Central now.

High res versions of the photos:

The antique carousel gets a bright, new coat of paint in preparation for opening.

The first piece of steel is lowered into place on the ride formerly known as the Flying Eagles.

Looking from the top of Scooby's Ghoster Coaster toward the kids' area entrance across from Country Kitchen. In Wide Shot 2, you can see the work going on at the pad for the ride formerly known as the Flying Eagles.

Close-ups of brightly colored cell phones? New ride vehicles for Dodge 'ems? Or a piece of a yet to be announced mystery ride? Tune in January 31 to find out.

Thanks to Scott Anderson for the update.

The Carousel is orange...Wonder if they are going to put the mural-like painting on or if thoose are gone. Thoose boats look like cars, but I think I get what they may be. A simple ride we can't ride.

Thanks for the quick update Max. This looks like the boats for the boat ride I heard they were getting.

Glad to see the Carousel getting a fresh coat too.

Hummm...a 13 million dollar Carousel?!? And here I am going to school to design coasters. I bet you one thing im walking in there tomorrow and demanding a major change to Carousel designing  !

But to your original concern all I can suggest is to write the park and let them know how much of a.............well you know the rest ;) .

RollerNut wrote: I no longer care that the Hanna-Barbera characters are gone. It is the fact that they ruined the Antique Carousel that bothers me. Not only is it ugly, but it is now most likely worthless. The Carousel itself was worth more than any ride in the park since it had been restored. I am sorry to say but I am truly disappointed in Paramount Parks and Viacom for this, this is unacceptable.

Wouldn't it be better to see the finished product before judging it based on one pic? Sure, the colors might be different. But, they're still working on it! Never judge a book by its cover. Wait until opening day to see the results! Then, make your judgement on it.

(Are we gonna see the Carousel Preservation Society now? j/k)

Thank Max. Those pics are pretty interesting for sure. Seems as if the kiddies / Families are in for a treat, not to mention how much brighter the place will be in color. That just adds to the excitement for kids.

As for the complaining....you all can see how good it did for the poor old people at PKI to complain. ;)
I can zoom in and still see the horses / buggies haven't changed. That person on top looked like Scott for a second.

Scooby Doo is mighty bright also. Look at that yellow in the summer would ya!

Remember that this upgrade is for the "kids" not us "older" kids. :P

But seriously after seeing this picture http://www.carowindsconnection.com/2005/1-...nstruction3.JPG I dont even reconize the area! Im very excited about the change. I wonder if they have a before and after shot (im sure they do)

And another thing I wonder why they havent showed scooby doo in those pictures....hummmm ;)

Maybe the car ride will be rethemed to boats you drive around just like a certain sponge who lives in a pineapple under the sea???

Oh well, it's plausible....

Is it just me, or is there a lot of stuff MISSING???? I didn't see the flying balloons and a few of the other kiddie rides.
