I honestly don't see a big enough footprint in Nighthawk's area for a woodie.... ESPCIALLY if Vortex isn't removed.... and especially if you're adding trees as well since there are clearances that have to be met. Also, since woodies have a lot of substructure, I don't think it would be a very inviting open-air backdrop that we need for the area behind the plaza. (Hence the lake suggestion with a steel coaster)

The open area where TR and WWF used to be would be a great place to build a woodie and plant trees around it to make it feel more "rural".

Carousel Park is a great 'addition' to Carowinds. This area of the park looks so much better to me.

Intimidator didn’t open until about an hour and a half later. Fury’s trim was turned off so the last few hills were very good to be as cold as it was (I had asked if it was on or off).

The camp snoopy area and carousel park looked really amazing and yes fury was running quite fast so glad that trim wasn’t on,interestingly you would think they would have replaced the burnt out green lights around the station and a section of the hexagon in the Tunnel. However a great day I stayed long enough to get my two meals.

Yeah, the trim wasn't on when I rode it this weekend. However, I could tell Fury was running slower than usual with the cold. No wonder it didn't trigger, our speed was slower than on a warm summer day.

As to Fury...Over the last couple of years, some posts have referenced happiness that the trim "wasn't on"... and others sadness that it "was on".

Question... isn't the trim ALWAYS on? I thought it was calibrated to a specific mph and would engage to ensure that speed was not exceeded. If the train was not over that set speed, it simply didn't engage. is that not the case?

You nailed it. That's very much the case.

Yep, exactly. That is what I was alluding to in my post. The trim is there to help set a maximum speed going into the last part of the course. When I go on colder days, the trim has never engaged.

I always thought it stayed on too. But I was curious and asked one of the maintenance guys (the one who actually checks Fury at 3am every day). He said they turned it off. I didn’t know they could do that because I thought it always stayed on.

Aren't they magnetic? So they would have to turn off the magnetic field? Could it be that the magnetic field, when turned on, has a steady current to engage regardless the speed?
