Just out of curiousity, many on here want a GCI woodie in that clearing by WWF, my question is would the amount of water in Carolina Harbor have an impact on a wooden structure coaster? Those hot summer days could put quite a bit of humidity in the air in that area.

I would imagine in Thunder Road's case, its age and the removal of sealant paint factored into its early demise. Though if the park is that concerned with humidity, they could build the coaster with a steel structure similar to Invadr in order to reduce maintenance costs.

Anyways with rumors of Dodg'ems being moved somewhere else within the park, this is what I could see happening to the area in general:

Dodg'ems' relocation opens up the area to become Project Alpha's ride plaza, and with the bathrooms in Carolina Harbor being located outside of the construction walls, I could see the area behind the new attraction becoming a new entrance to the water park.

You can get a good glimpse of what's going on if you look from the rail fence by the Dodgems. Just have to look thru the swamp grass.

Also, I'd like to non-monetary bet that the project is a hold-n-dive coaster like Griffon or Valravn. I saw an employee/supervisor wear a CF polo with the Valravn logo on it. May be an easter egg?

I agree with you that if dodgems would be taken out in that area they would relocate them because they are a classic attraction and attract many people in the summer

I'd love to see Dodgems be relocated with a new structure and restored cars, similar to the Grand Carousel. It's a classic attraction and I keep picturing a big, flashy retro exterior and interior like Rock-N-Roller.

Exactly! Dodgems are a classic ride for any amusement park and carowinds’ aren’t in the best shape so it would be perfect for a relocation with a new pavilion just like the grand carousel

This is probably completely meaningless but it would be really cool if it was true, the park has a light pointing on WWFs entrance on a location that a sign would be at. I'm doubtful but I know the park does like to tease

When did you take this? Because currently there is a green construction fence blocking off the old entrance unless it has changed since Monday I think this photo is old
