Someone mentioned my model. I asked Ms. Pat about that when I saw her a few weeks ago. They are moving it to a more open location for better viewing  . But I made sure to say not to put it outside, since the sun may bleach the paint.

I also recommended to Steve to re-work the plex-case on top. The top piece of plexiglass was starting to separate from the metal structure. I recommended adding a bar through the center piece of plexiglass on top so as to decrease the weight of the top glass piece. The Top piece alone costed $6,000
Unfortunately..... the entire plexiglass case on top is all glued to the wood base, so taking it off will be difficult

Does anyone know how the crowds are on Fridays during school hours? I was thinking of going, but I wasn't sure if there were a lot of school events or field trips. We have season passes, just don’t want to go if it's overly crowded (more than a Sunday). Any info is appreciated!

Fridays during April/May, there are a lot of high school bands and choirs there. Crowds usually aren't too bad but the park isn't dead with the dozens of school buses.

Thank you! I think I’ll head that way around lunch tomorrow and see how it is... since Sunday is going to be a washout!

Today’s is definitely a walk on day. Only maybe 10-15 rows of parking filled. Most likely due to weather.

I don’t know if it’s because of light train combined with high winds but I rode Fury 20x back to back with maybe 8-10 on the train including me, like they would wait 3-5mins with the gates open to try and fill the trains, but ever time the train came to the turnaround it would just about stall before heading back under the bridge. That was the BEST sideways hangtime in the world. After that the closed the ride down.

I’m currently in a back security room at guest services and am taking shelter from a tornado. Today I learned that Carowinds has tornado sirens. Me and my friend are the only guests in here.

BUT Fury’s sideways airtime was really fun, there is a second of lag time where even I wondered if we were going to stall.

Yes!!! I enjoyed that lag time.

I knew about the sirens at Carowinds as well as Fort Mill and Rock Hill. There’s one across the street from my backyard. Out of the 6yrs I’ve been there and all the warnings we’ve had I’ve never heard any of them go off like today. I will say Carowinds’ staff did well with shuffling the people into restrooms and shelters.

RIP to some of the trees behind Fury. Looks like any chance of the park buying that land and there being a coaster that crosses that road to go into the woods just got that much slimmer.
