I think a woodie would really round out the park better, but i really also want a mack launch near to me, and the park needs a launch as well. I'll be happy with either.

I think Carowinds needing a good wooden coaster is mostly just enthusiast talk. I mean the park has Hurler, and even though it's nowhere close to being a great wooden coaster, it's still a decent family ride and it's the fourth most popular in the park.

Personally, I like to imagine what the park "needs" from the perspective of the general public rather than that of an enthusiast, because if I expected the park to fulfill all of my pipedream coaster ideas, I'd be pretty disappointed. What Carowinds needs are some full-service restaurants and trees/shade. Every other addition from family rides to new coasters are luxuries that will continue to drive people to the park, not things desperately missing from it.

If we are going by the alleged layout, it looks to me like a Mack instead of a Gerstlauer. It is most noticeable with the vertical loops, which appear to have track travel through them (Blue Fire), including the second launch (Time Traveler).

I'm with Tarheel as far as Carowinds "needing" a good wooden coaster. They have a wooden coaster, actually two if you count Woodstock Express. On the other hand Carowinds does not have a Launch coaster. So really the "need" is more for a launch than a wooden coaster. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against getting a wooden coaster. If that's what this ends up being, I'll be ok with that too.

I think putting a woodie in that area would be a waste of space and money.....I understand its 5 acres but its all in one place and not stretched out, if it were stretched out like Furys 8 acres then yes a woodie would be great. I know people have talked about a layout like twisted timbers but if we are to get another woodie it needs to be bigger and better than Hurler IMO....

So basically you want an out and back like Mystic Timbers?

In some ways Carowinds has enough out and back coasters.
Single:
Fury 325
Intimidator

Double:
Cyclone
Goldrusher
Woodstock(stretching it aren’t I)
Afterburn

Triple: Hurler

Let’s have something more twisted than Vortex for a wooden coaster!

Not so much and out and back just something better than Hurler....not one of my favorite rides....I am probably wrong I'm just not sure how much of a decent lift hill and drop you can get in that area. Just my opinion is all and I am no coaster expert just my observation

With so many steel coastersprojected for next year it will be impossible to determine who these are for....RCDB has on it's site 47 as of right now not sure how many of those are B&M

According to RCDB, B&M doesn’t have any sitting coaster projects lined up for next year. That, and the last brand new sitting coaster (discounting refurbished Hulk) bought from the company was in 2008, when Hard Rock Park was built. I’d say there’s a 70% chance that the sitting coaster track at the plant is headed to Beijing.
