There is some more information regarding the replacement of Taste of the Carolinas, "Great Carolina Fest". Looks like they've decided to go with a card this year rather than tokens, which personally I prefer after my experience with Brews & BBQ at Cedar Point and Boysenberry Festival at Knott's. The bourbon peach pie looks AMAZING.

So I don’t know if it’s me, but Cobra is running mad smooth today. The cobra roll of course shook me up but other than that. The rest of the ride is very smooth.

I stumbled across this post on Reddit earlier, thought I'd share it here.

Apparently someone in the area was cleaning out an old house and found some of the original press materials from when Carowinds first opened to the public. Very cool!

Someone in the comments suggested getting them uploaded to the Carowinds Early Years site, which I think would be great. Those brochures are in really great shape to be as old as they are.

Pre-K Pass Questions.

We have a 4 year old that we can now get in on the Pre-K Pass. Part of getting the pass is bringing in a Birth Certificate for Proof of Age.... No Problem........ However my wife is concerned about privacy issues and is concerned they will keep a copy of the Birth Certificate.

1.) Does anyone here with kids know if they keep a copy of the Birth Certificate or take Sensitive Information off of it?

2.) Is bringing a Copy of the Birth Certificate ok.... We don't to bring in the original in the Park and get damaged.

Brining a copy of the birth certificate should be fine, And I highly highly doubt they keep a copy of it. It would be hard for them to keep a file for every Pre-K pass and if they did it’d be extremely pointless as they would never have the time to continue to see if they are over the age.

They just look at it to verify the age (they don't keep it). It can be a copy.

IIRC, that clearing is for the new power line route behind the park. If not, they seem to be constructing another road off of Catawba Trace, so maybe it’s a campground expansion?

Its been like that for a couple years now. Thats where they shoot the fireworks off. Also some Scarowinds stuff gets layed down there too.

That clearing has been there for decades, the park stores stuff back there.
