They scanned my card the last time i got funnel cake but it was at the end of the night so i am not sure if it counted or not.

Really? Interesting. Never had an issue with cold food in HH and if things look old I'll ask for a fresh plate.

Well. You must not have been there Passholder preview night. A 30 minute wait in line just to get rang up. By then It was cold. The very next day, our pizza wasn't cooked in the middle and the pepperoni was cold. Or the next Sunday when the pasta was ice cold in the middle. Or the next weekend, same deal.. I'm a regular and not trying to stir the pot, just bring light to an issue the park already knows about..

We were spoiled by media day and winter warm up. With Taste of Carolinas upon us, it's time to knock it out of the park again.

so the only funnel cake place you CAN'T take advantage of is the one near Chick-fil-A... they actually scan your card to check on your 4-hour status... forgot its name.

guess i'll be sticking with the one at the front of the park (plaza).

The employees are REALLY confused about the meal plan, and it seems whoever set up the Carowinds POS (Point of Sale) system made it much more difficult than necessary to ring these up.

I asked at Chickie and Petes if I could get JUST the fries instead of the Cheesesteak and fries with the meal plan. The girl rang me up for fries, scanned the card for the discount and kept wanting me to pay the $8 and whatever. I was trying to find out IF I could get that, a simple "no, only the cheesesteaks and fries are available under the dining plan" would have answered my question. So I told them just cancel that order, because I was only getting it IF it could be had under the plan.

Off to try the fish at the stand near Cobra. Again, confusion about the meal plan as they asked me about 4 times if I had the daily or seasonal plan, then had to figure out how to ring that up. I knew I wouldn't get a drink with the plan, but there was confusion when trying to order it because they kept trying to tell me it wasn't included. Yes, I know this, I'm giving you my pass AND CREDIT CARD because I want to BUY a Coke with the season pass discount. Finally sorted that out, and got my fish 'n' fries. Not bad, but certainly a step down from what we used to get at Outer Hanks.

This isn't even counting the preview night and opening day at HH which was pretty chaotic both times. Still, I've had $30+ worth of food so far this season so the $84 add-on will pay for itself pretty quickly.

That's weird that they charge you for drink. I usually get water but I decided to get a soft drink one time and they didn't charge me for it. The funny thing is, I didn't try to hide it or even tell them it was water (not that they would ask, seeing that it was Coke), but I left the drink on my tray so it was visible to the cashier and she said absolutely nothing about it.

I was waiting for him to say this is what he had to do to get the point across.

LOL. That's exactly what Derek - who I was eating with - suggested after I returned to the C&P patio area with my fish 'n' fries.

Some of the confusion was I thought he had ordered the fries and not the "combo", and a guy had to come over and explain to the girl several times how to ring his up. I assumed my order would be a piece of cake, as she had now been shown how to do it. How wrong I was.

Hopefully these issues can be ironed out during the week now that spring break is over and the park has moved to weekend only operation until the summer. I guess a little bit of training is needed.

Not dining plan related, but we have been having issues with my son having to be measured at every ride he wants to ride when he clearly has a band on his wrist where he got measured at the front of the park. I show the ride operators the band and they still make him stand in front of the sign to be measured at every ride.

While many of the folks in leadership at the park do read this forum regularly (maybe not as frequent now that the season is underway), it is also probably a good idea to also write a comment at guest relations on your way out about stuff like this.

My thoughts exactly. And some people are mentioning where they can get away with abusing the season pass meal plans. My bet is they are already addressing it so don't except it to stay that way. If you do hit guest relations I'd keep it friendly, constructive critisicim would make Carowinds a better place. (Even though it's already pretty amazing) haha
