Before Disney had it in their mobile app, I used an app from one of the sites that does customized "attack plans" for the Disney parks based on various criteria. It gave crowd-sourced wait times which seemed pretty accurate and sometimes a bit different than what the wait boards at the rides said. When I'd see that waits were getting longer in Magic Kingdom for a variety of rides but Epcot or Studios had short waits, off to the bus / monorail I'd go since I had Parkhopper. It was quite nice to have, as I went during a time the Brazilian tour groups were pretty heavy, and when several groups of 50-150 teenage girls line up for rides at the same time it can shoot wait times up quickly. I'd try to go wherever they weren't.
While you can't park-hop at Carowinds, etc., it would be nice to see what the waits are for rides at the other side of the park, or to know not to walk over to Afterburn when it's not running, etc.
