And this company wants me to spend MORE money to go the park next season - or to attend Scarowinds this season?
As of right now, 2 coasters and one side of another one are SBNO. The side of T-Road that IS running is still rough, and Hurler isn't much better. The rides that are running are often only running one train. Carowinds is now freakin' Six Flags over Fort Mill / Charlotte.
This is TOP GUN Cedar Fair, you know, the most popular ride in the park, and the 4th-best steel coaster in your entire chain according to Mitch's poll. You should be busting your butts to get this ride fixed ASAP. Maybe you are, but one gets the sneaky suspicion that you're not paying for any extra hours during the week to get this problem fixed. It's not like it hasn't been 85 and SUNNY the entire time, which should allow any work, including pouring new concrete footers if necessary, to be completed within a month's time. The only thing I can think that would take this long IF they're doing all the work on it they can is waiting for a new piece of track or support to be fabricated.
Given the screwjob that you gave the people at Geauga Lake by closing their park and only announcing it AFTER the season, one might even worry that this is something worse - like a removal / relocation that they're keeping quiet. I highly doubt that's the case, but after the GL fiasco, we can't really put anything past them, can we?
Given the lackluster reviews of Scarowinds' haunted attractions, I can safely say I won't spend a cent to go until Top Gun is back up and running. If it isn't running by the end of the season, that'll make it that much easier for me to wait until next year to buy a pass, which may of course lead to me not buying one at all. Not sure how I'll live without that CF jacket, though.....
