I hath returned...Hope everyone is doing well and in good spirits. I tend to agree that the March/April timeframe is more of a "preseason" for Carowinds. In addition to the comments made about the signs (...love the Nighthawk & Afterburn logos), I was disappointed with the merchandise selection. With the removal of the Paramount name there are many new directions that Cedar Fair can go in with the Carowinds branding and just a few were on display. I hope Cedar Fair reads these trip reports because I saw no XL or XXL sizes for any of the shirts. It is my hope that since the Afterburn Gift Shop and other merch spots were not yet open, that the bulk of the new designs and sizes have not yet arrived. I will reserve judgement until after Memorial Day weekend, which by such time I hope Thunder Road is once again operational. I second the motion that it is a good thing to have both trains running forward and racing as TR was intended. So which ride will be operational first...Dominator or Thunder Road? No trips to Kings Dominion till they get Dominator rolling. As for the Yo-Yo...bleh...it really belongs in the Nick section if they intend to run it on the super kiddie setting. It really would be fun if they would crank it up a bit. The cycle is too slow and too short. Other than that it was really fun to be back at Carowinds for a new season...yes I broke down and bought season passes 'cause Cedar Fair addressed my most pressing concerns which were the return of the 4 or more discount and the addition of Scarowinds with the free parking. Judging by the packed passholder parking area, I would assume that CF recovered from the slow pass sales that greeted their original pass program from last fall. Hey, if March and April are preseason for Carowinds does that make Scarowinds the playoffs?
