I think that was also when the little midget parking brake was added at the end of the station.

Spreading the brakes out allowed them to cut down on the air pressure on the brakes. More distance with lower pressure= softer stop.

I believe the park later went in and put in the smarter trim braking algorithm we had originally worked up at PKI for the Beastie and Racer. It was set up to act like the early 90's Arrow trim, but had to compensate for the relative lack of speed sensors on the wooden coasters.
