Just figured the whole thing out: No more Nick theme, Snoopy coming, New coaster coming, needs a name and theme. It's going to be a new Snoopy coaster.

Just kidding

Great, guess my wife should have waited a couple weeks longer before buying the swim trunks for the kids.

Snoopy is horrible theming. The area at Cedar Point is very cheap looking. The characters just really aren't that attractive and all look the same. Better off to go back to the original HB theming. The cost of the license wouldn't be as expensive as the current stuff, and it had a nice look to it.

Could someone answer this as it relates to the post above: Scooby Doo is Hanna Barbara, and they use the Scooby Mansion. Did Paramount just pay for the Scooby rights, and the other characters would be a different amount? I grew up with HB, but kids now days don't watch those shows. Trust me, I've tried. They will watch Scooby. Why do they not have a dressed up Scooby walking around??
CF already owns the Peanuts theme, so it wouldn't cost them extra. Personally, I think the characters need to walk around more, not just go to one spot and meet everyone there at certain times. I believe the old HB did that if I recall.

I suspect the Scooby ride is a separate rights agreement just for that single attraction. There are a number of Scooby Doo rides at various parks.

Cedar Fair still has rights to Hanna-Barbera, they are still in use at KD, CW, and CGA. KECO had a never-ending license to use HB, and I imagine it carried over to Paramount and Cedar Fair. Everyone can say what they want about the HB license being expired, but Scooby-Doo still appears outside of the Mansions at all five Paramount Parks. I was told in 2006 that the license for the walkaround expired in 2007, but Scooby is still there, so SCOOBY-DOOBY-DOO! However, I highly doubt Cedar Fair will return Animation Station and Zoom Zone to their prior theming. I am willing to bet that after the Nick license expires, Nick Central will become a generic kiddy area with no overall theme.

anyone notice if scooby doo is 50% off everywhere? There was a post on a site dedicated to Kings Dominion that they (KD) had all Nick AND Scooby for 50% off, and they figured that meant Scooby was going too. That doesn't ring true to me that Scooby would go based on discussions I've read on here and other places. Anybody notice if Scooby Doo merchandise is getting cleared out of Carowinds right now?

The sign says "Nick, Scooby, and PARK NAME", looks to me like either it i stuff that isn't selling for regular price or old stuff that is taking up inventory space. Seems to me that it is a sign of nothing...
