Does anyone know if this is on Scarowinds maps? If so, this would be something cool to have.

It's not on my maps

that would be a horrible idea. Less attention they bring to that to the gp and media the better. Last thing they need is ppl protesting to save the plantation house. I agree, just tear it down already. Like a bandaid, better to just pull it off fast.

I know the building is not from 1920 and that it is not really historic so that makes it easy and I am glad we will be getting an awesome new entrance and the coaster we are getting. I am also happy our park is the park that Cedar Fair is pouring in tons of money. Still wish they could have somehow saved it. Don't get me wrong, I am proud of our park and I support it. I think we have one of the best corporate parks in the nation actually. Still after visiting amazing parks such as Waldameer, DeGrossos and the ultimate, Knoebels, my annoyance with big corporate parks just increased dramatically. Thankfully, the Knoebels family did not 'justify' why they should stop the Flying Turns and instead stuck with it for 7 years. Back to the entrance, I paid my last respects this past Sunday including asking someone if I could get a quick upstairs tour which they were nice enough to take me on a quick tour. It turns out I will be going again this Sunday as well. Despite my frustration at it going bye bye I will admit when I walk into the front entrance in late March I will be smiling and be very amazed.

There are dozens of worthwhile historical resources in our Old North State that could desperately use your help. The fake plantation house at Carowinds is not one of them. There are plenty of real plantation houses around here, surprisingly.

That is why I clearly stated the fact that the Plantation House is not truly an historic building that is why I am ok with it even though I am not a fan of it. I appreciate and respect history, preservation and restoration. I know we do not have a true historic park like the many awesome parks of Pennsylvania. So for that reason I am happy for the chances but I am still not a fan of the removal of the Plantation House no matter who has an issue with my opinion or no matter how awesome the new entrance will be.

I don't take issue with anyone saddened by the removal of the plantation house. But comparing the park to Waldameer, Knoebels, etc (all great parks) makes no sense to me.

Those parks don't add $30million coasters.

Here we go again. I never did compare our park to parks in Pennsylvania, I said:
'I know we do not have a true historic park like the many awesome parks of Pennsylvania'
If anything I was making it clear our park is NOT like those parks. That is why these changes are not that big of a deal with me and even though I am bummed about the removal of the front entrance I will be awed by the new entrance I am sure. Switching gears, does anyone know for sure whether or not we will get our season pass lot back in 2015?

Never rode Italian Job but I would have welcomed it. Story I heard is that it was an option for 2006 but Carowinds wanted watermark expansion. Rumor I heard was removal of Whitewater Falls and Frenzoid.
