I am also happy our park is the park that Cedar Fair is pouring in tons of money. Still wish they could have somehow saved it. Don't get me wrong, I am proud of our park and I support it. I think we have one of the best corporate parks in the nation actually. Still after visiting amazing parks such as Waldameer, DeGrossos and the ultimate, Knoebels, my annoyance with big corporate parks just increased dramatically. Thankfully, the Knoebels family did not 'justify' why they should stop the Flying Turns and instead stuck with it for 7 years. Back to the entrance, I paid my last respects this past Sunday including asking someone if I could get a quick upstairs tour which they were nice enough to take me on a quick tour. It turns out I will be going again this Sunday as well. Despite my frustration at it going bye bye I will admit when I walk into the front entrance in late March I will be smiling and be very amazed.
There are dozens of worthwhile historical resources in our Old North State that could desperately use your help. The fake plantation house at Carowinds is not one of them. There are plenty of real plantation houses around here, surprisingly.
