General Carowinds discussion

I have noticed this season that some of the Rides are becoming breeding grounds for Nature. Not a whole lot of people saw this one but there is a bird's nest that is under the moving platform up at Top Gun. The only way you see it is if you go to the edge of the Platform and look down. I saw 1 egg but no bird. I do plan on going up there this week while the park is closed to see if the bird is there or if is an abandoned egg.

There is also a squirrel that has made a nest in the Roof of the Top Gun Station. This weekend I saw him walk on the Rafters up to the top roof and go into his hole while the station was full of people and the trains were running. I don’t know if The Anomaly or Carowindsfreak saw him, or if it was just me.

I do hope that everyone does leave the nest alone that is in the Borg Queue line. I know that the Male goose isn’t playing around. I was trying to clean around there and he was hissing at me. Not like I was scared because I know that he was only protecting her and the egg.

If I am not mistaken Geese are protected by law. We also have Geese that set up camp in front of where I work by the parking lot. We have to rope it off and have people walk around them as they will charge and fly at you. As soon as thier eggs hatch and the little ones can leave they all leave but for a while it is annoying but cool to watch. We had a guy who thought he was Mr. Man and was not going to walk around the ropes to get to his car and decided he was walking straight thru, well Daddy and Mommy Goose swarmed him and all I remember, as I was laughing so hard, was this macho man running thru the parking lot yelling for help as they were pecking his back and slapping his head with thier wings.
So, please leave the geese alone at Carowinds. They don't play around.

They should probably do like they do at airports and waterparks where they have the little fake owl's sitting everywhere so birds wont come near them.

^ Interesting that you mention that, I was at Family Kingdom yesterday and I noticed Swamp Fox had a large fake owl perched on the coaster.
