OK First off. I can quote a lot of people, but I haven't figured out how to do multiple quotes. I do believe that the nets were added a couple weeks after park opening. I do know that they were added the first season. I remember the workers using the Genie lifts to put the Net up. I think that not only it's there to catch flying objects from the ride it is to stop people from throwing objects at the ride.

Montumax I do remember you updating TG Construction Progress. Awesome photos BTW.

Hey Lets take all the safety featues off the ride.... Heck lets even get ride of all the OPS people and run the Ride without ride ops. Anyone up for that???????

Your right Cephas, it would be better to have the net off but Top Gun is right that saftey is first. Because the G's can pull alot of suff out of your pockets and go flying.

That's exactly why they are there. The same reason the net is under BORG's flip off the lift.

Did anything ever fall out of people's pockets and hit someone on the pathway? Or did people ever through things at the train?

I'm not sure, but the whole point of the nets is to prevent this from happening. Sometimes parks do NOT wait for accidents to happen before preventing them.

I also remember when Top Guns first tunnel (after the loop) was not covered. You could ride the Whirling Dervish and swing out over the tunnel.

I remember, too, swampfox! It was hard as hell though to try and get on the Whirling Dirvish and be right over the track at the time the train went by. I say bring back the Wild Bull and the Whirling Dirvish and I'll be happy.

Me and another associate were sweeping grounds around the Top Gun area a few seasons back when a pager came hurtling our way, but this occured as the train was in the flat spin. It came darn close to hitting her but it hit the ground and shattered instead. My point is that things do in fact fall out of people's pockets on Top Gun. I've lost several things from my pockets and have no idea where on the ride it happened.

I swapped out my construction photos with the opening day photos on my Top Gun site. But, I do have an incredible photo album showing Top Gun construction from the beginning when the track was laid out in the parking lot to the media day, and beyond.

Me and MontuMax were there just about every weekend taking pictures during construction. Remember leaning over and looking down into the Batwing pit when it was just a dirt hole?

I'll be happy to email some of them to anyone who cares to see them.

Hey couldnt you just post a link or put on a website instead of e-mailing it to each individiual person

^ I'll look into that. Right now, I just don't have the web space to host the pics. I may be able to fanagle them into a webpage somehow but it would actually be easier (for me) to just batch email them to whoever wants to see them.

If you want me to host them on a page for everyone to look at you can send them to me.
