After this news has sunk in, I just have to applaud Cedar Fair for their clear and apparent dedication to transforming Carowinds into what it was always meant to be: a major amusement destination that unifies the Carolinas and brings joy to families all over the region. This is just another huge step in that direction.
We should all take a breath and be very, very appreciative of what we've received as of late, and for what we will be getting in the near future. It's amazing to think that in the last couple years (and in next couple, too) Carowinds has seen so much positive change, almost a decade's worth of most other park's expansion budget all in such a short time span - - more than enough, IMO, to sweeten any of the negatives; like Thunder Roads' unfortunate removal, even though it isn't exactly an even trade.
Hopefully they take advantage of these rides being classics and bring back some of those retro ride names from the park's past. Names like Witchdoctor, Black Widow, Meteorite, etc. are all just too
cheesy-in-the-best-way not to make a comeback!

But no matter what these end up being called, or themed to, I think it's safe to call these additions a win regardless!
Now I'm just crossing my fingers that at least a couple of them make it into the park this season, and the suspense doesn't kill me before 2017! News like this really softens the blow that being a coaster junkie can sometimes take on your wallet, especially when it's your homepark getting all the love!!
