No, it was just a piece of a ride.

Well, but still it was a part of carowinds

Well, I guess we all have that piece of Carowinds we hate(d) to see go.

I rode the Cyclone with a 7 year old once. When it was over he yawned and said it was pretty boring compared to the Goldrusher! The cyclone is an OK ride I guess, it is getting a bit simple compared to most rides they are making know, it may only be a matter of years. But for those marks, that is construction most likely.

And who would've thought Worlds of Fun would take out their classic Arrow Orient Express coaster. That surprised a lot of people but it just goes to prove that no ride is sacred in a theme park. The Cyclone could very well be in line for removal as we speak.

I doubt the Cyclone is on the chopping block, some of the markings say "gusset", thoose are for adding support. The Cyclone is welded together, so I could be hard to take it down and relocate it. It is plainly visible that if it is to be remove, it is ment to be sold.

Welded or not, if the park wanted it gone, it would be gone (or going.) That thing could come apart quicker than the Carolina Queen. It might not be sold, it could just be melted down like Drachen Fire.

True Max.
The words Gusset could be painted there to let the "new" owners know where to put the supports. After it gets unwelded that is.

Well this is all we know and we are not really sure. I sure hope cyclone dosen't go.

I hope it doesn't leave either, but 24 years in the same location is quite an accomplishment for a steel coaster. Too bad it hasn't aged as well as some of the other Arrow loopers like the Loch Ness Monster.

:o You just made my stomach churn. I always figured Drachen Fire finally got sold and was living happily somewhere at an overseas park or something. That's sad news. I was one of the few who loved Drachen Fire.

May it rest in hot molten metal forever. Gone too soon, but dearly missed. All those years in a comma state at the park, I would often visit by way of the train and give a moments respect and a glimmer of hope, but I guess it just wasn't enough.

On the other hand, tear down Cyclone... I could care less about that ride. It's days are up. :D   :P j/k It fits in now with the new theming better than ever before I think.

I hope they don't tear down Cyclone, it was my very first looping coaster, I don't care if it is(I can't belive i'm saying this) a peice of crap I like it!! If they do remove it, i hope it dosen't end up bieng melted like Drachen Fire(stupid idiots living right next to a theme park and then complaining about noise).

Why shpuld they tear it down. If closes it would be a part of history of carowinds as the first four inversion coaster.

If they took it down, then that's what it would be...history. Sometimes history, etc. doesn't make a hill of beans in business decisions.

I don't think CC is going anywhere. But, in this day and age, you never know.

Well after I talked to my "sources" (Hey dont we all have sources around here..........) and they say to expect the worst. Not only is CC leaving but the beloved TR will be no more either. And in its place will be the worlds first (and probably last) kiddy wooden racer dubbed "ha ha we pissed you guys off again!!"
