'Tis a sweet looking ride.

Definantly going to be 2 launches as the midway show takes place then you blast through the billboard and thru the water.

Hmmm, and I voted for Adam's Family. Wonder if they had them both planned but wanted to see who wanted what from the survey's.

I might go kick myself in tha pants but then again I'll wait for our announement in a couple weeks.

Max, in the beginning thats what I felt also. and it seems very similar to ROTM but instead of the slow darkride scenes it seems to be more fast paced, but looking at the video and looking at the track and supports and the elements its kinda hard to pin point one particular firm. You never know what those other european companies had/has under their sleeves...........

Seems that the person who said it was Intamin didn't actually hear that at the press event, but made the decision themselves. Sorry for posting incorrect information...

I see that there is some concern about the fate of the antique cars and the Flying Eagles. Hey, if they want to send us the Eagles, I wouldn't have a problem with that. I know a perfect spot in the park for it. Flight School :)

I myself would like the antique cars...lol. Like that would happen. (From what I've read on CBuzz, Kings Island plans to move both rides to a new location eventually)

I hope they add something like that to Carowinds in the future! Really looks like an awesome ride. Maybe Paramount will start adding good rides to their forgotten parks someday...

Well dukster, I would say they have a forgotten park being that every park has gotten something in the form of an attraction in the last years. Its just that some people want more and more and more and dont wanna pay the cost of rising park admission!! :P

I meant that Carowinds isn't really as popular as the other Paramount Parks/is often forgotten in the coaster community.

I was talking with a buddy of mine who is doing the story for AT on the new Paramount attractions. He said the parks are not going to release the full spec sheet on The Italian Job ride until Spring 2005. Makes me wonder if they even have this thing fully designed yet.

Here is what he was told. The ride will have a top speed of 40mph. It will have 3 launches and each train will have 3 cars. The rides design team will be a conglomeration of Premier, BMW and Paramount D&E (based here in Charlotte).

The animation gives a great indicator of what the ride will do and look like but we can't take it as being 100% accurate (as usual). Also, he was not able to determine whether both of the rides will be identical but something tells me they will be. Just a sense.

Park guests will experience what it’s like to be a Hollywood stunt driver and go behind the scenes of an action movie. Guests board their very own MINI Cooper S tricked out with audio special effects adding to the multi-sensory sensation of the experience. Once strapped into their custom stunt car, rubber meets the road as the MINIs peel out to begin their chase sequence. Drivers twist through a parking garage, dodge near-collisions, race down stairs, chase through tunnels and narrowly escape massive explosions triggered by gunfire from a menacing helicopter. Tires skid out one last time as the stunt cars crash through a billboard and splash down into an L.A. aqueduct concluding the chase sequence and their trial as a stunt driver in this screen test!

I only count 2 launches, and the video of the ride shows 2 launches (on the extended version which shows a POV of the whole ride).............so, where's the third?

^^The 3rd launch is a booster launch similar to Volcano's second launch. There will be 2 launches from a stand-still position and the booster will occur somewhere on the course while the train is in motion. It will occur before the 2nd stand-still launch from what I was told.

That is one of the sweetest coasters I've ever seen. The themeing is just unreal. Here's hoping Carowinds announces they are getting one later this month. I have doubts since we just got refurbished Stealth this year.

^^Who would've thought PCWo would be getting another major ride a year after their Zamperla Flyer....

You never know with these Paramount folks!

Wow, now that's what I call a themed roller coaster. But there isn't anywhere it could fit at Carowinds, it looks huge.
