Grizzly was in-house. Hurler was a new company called International Coasters, Inc.. The only two coasters they built were the Hurlers for the Paramount Parks.

I am pretty sure he meant the project this season. There has been speculation that KD is going to retrack Hurler themselves, but there has also been speculation of GCI and RMC.

So back to Higginbotham, his first four year term brought us the 3-year $50 million expansion. I predict that Cedar Fair has been well pleased with the results from that. So the mayor is running for four more years which is a continued expansion and large investment in Carowinds.

Over the next few years, we'll see the park expanded to the woods behind Hurler, starting with a small footprint in 2017. I agree with previous comments on some of those new 'old' rides being put throughout the park.

It does look like Hurler might be on the chopping block but it's not really in the way. It wouldn't bother me either way...

Now if they replace Hurler with a racing woodie, I'd be completely okay with it. Kills two birds with one stone (Bringing Thunder Road "back" and adding an additional coaster for kids at 48").

If that were to happen I would like to see it done like Lightning Racer where the trains passed by each other in addition to racing. I also think it would nice to have it similar to Twisted Collossus where instead of having two stations, you go back to the lift hill expect the whole ride be longer than The Beast.

This is what I have been thinking the entire campaign has been about. It makes absolute sense to me since from the beginning they laid it out as a multi year plan.

All in all, just excited to see the continued growth and investment.

Wasn't Fehnel quoted as saying something in an interview about a future attraction taking two years to build? I swear I read that somewhere, but it's surely not possible as a comment like that would certainly have caused an uproar on here. Does anybody else remember that or am I just going crazy?

I don't know what kind of attraction would take two years to build, anyway.

The more I think about it, the more I see them bulldozing Hurler. It would be better to utilize that new space for multiple attractions than to use it for a single coaster. So I think they're going to use most of Hurler's plot for the next coaster, and like Arby said, continue to expand the west side of the park.

That area has a lot of trees... while a wooden coaster racing through the woods would be pretty fun, that area would be the perfect spot for a new log flume.

You reading this, Matt?

While most of you are seeing that area as a plot for a new ride, I am seeing this as the area where the resort could go.

If you put the resort by the water park entrance Carowinds Blvd would be right next to it and quite frankly there probably just isn't enough room there for a resort.

If you put the resort by the entrance plaza you would be placing it right next to I-77 which would not be pleasant for guest as they would hear traffic all night long and it's a lengthy distance from the entrance to the park.

That wooded area is realistically one of the best spots and you could make an entrance to the park in between Hurler and drop tower.

I think the resort is just a Cedar Fair pipe dream. Plus unless they connect the new road to Carowinds Blvd behind the campground then you will have Trafffic from employee, the campground, buses and the resort using the intersection by the waterpark.

I am wondering if the middle exit couldn't be converted to an entrance/exit for the resort. That would put the resort across the parking lot from both South Gate and Harbor Gate.
