If it were a problem, people other than AllSeasonDiningTroll would be talkin about it.

I've certainly learned my lesson to never visit scarowinds on opening weekend. It was way too overcrowded with tons of undesirable types (No not black people, just roudy teenagers acting like carowinds is some gang warzone.) roaming around and not enough security for the insane amount of people.

This may have been asked already but does anyone know what the Skeleton's Key does? And is that along with the fast pass for the mazes or is that a separate thing?

Think what you want. I've been lurking for months only made the account to see if anyone else experienced the events of last night. Check the carowinds Facebook page I'm not the only one talking about it. One person claimed there were upwards of 10 fights throughout the night. Thankfully I only witnessed the one and that was enough.

"10 fights" I highly doubt that. And if you were attacked, most likely it would have been on the news. :?

A lot more goes on at Carowinds than makes the news. In 2006, Hurler was shut down for repairs after several guests came off bleeding from the head. The steel rails in turn 5 had came loose causing riders to hit their heads on the bolt in front of them; both I and my team leader caught this and reported it to maintenance. Maintenance told my team leader that if we haven't had found the defect during test rides then the train may have derailed. Maintenance does NOT walk the Entire track Every day, they walk a section a day and it takes a few days to walk the entire track. Find me the news article!

Wow. Anywho, I didn't see 1 fight all night, so most likely his info is incorrect. :(

Like I said believe what you want. We were not attacked, we were harassed as we were driving out of the park and through crowds of rowdy teenagers. I wasn't concerned about calling the local news, I was concerned about getting out the park safely. Check the Facebook page like I said, one of the monsters just confirmed the fighting and even monsters being threatened and having to be brought to safety leaving areas empty.

Attacked was the wrong word. I apologize I was not physically harmed thankfully as we were in our car with windows rolled up. I did leave out the part where one of the kids brandished a stun gun and set it off a couple times at my window. It was a crazy night, confirmed by several sources not just me. I guess I should of whipped out my cell phone and took a video that's what all the hip kids do these days right?

I don't know about 10 fights, but I personally saw six. The one in front of Harmony Hall, one at the front entrance near the Carowinds sign, one on the bridge over Fury, and then three in the parking lot that is usually sectioned off for priority parking.

We wanted to leave, however the two officers on horse back were directly behind our car blocking us and requested that we give them a moment. We sat in our car as the various fights broke out about two aisles away. Some of the teenagers running away from the police literally ran into our car.

I wasn't sharing this info to start additional fights. More as a precaution to those with families to simply be safe when going. Some of the stampedes could have easily hurt younger children and smaller adults. Just hoping everyone can enjoy the park while being safe and responsible.

Kinda makes you wonder why wsoctv or some news outlet wasn't out there covering this mess. . .

Oh wait! That's because Carowinds and cedar fair managment DO NOT want any bad press getting out about these incidents. They would rather try and cover the issue up or ignore it. I noticed they had deleted all mention of the fighting and riots from their official Facebook page. Censorship anyone? Yeah I think so.

Totally agree with you Kineticmind. My son and daughter will not be in this atmosphere nor will myself or wife.

This gang-thug mentality is taking over the Charlotte area. Was talking to my friend about it on the phone today and he agreed with me, that you really need protection these days. Will be happy when Ballantyne annexes from Charlotte and puts up some kind of a security gate so we don't have to deal with the hooligans. Also glad that NC allows citizens to legally carry a firearm to protect from these thugs.
