I have to agree with Jonathan..... And I will be "that other guy" :D

That first trim on the way back has effectively RUINED the best part of the ride.. It throws you forward in the seat. IMHO, way too much. If it would grab like the first one it'd be perfect.. Even my 8 year old noticed how much more it grabs compared to the first couple weekends. I'm sure there's a reasoning for it, but I dont understand it.. Not one bit.. And probably never will..

BTW, she almost caught some loose change last sunday.. And I about caught a cell phone last week..

^ Sadly until someone updates saying otherwise I'll be spending my 3 hours to drive up to i305 instead of 3 down to Carowinds. I loved the return run and the trim brakes are just about the dumbest thing ever added to the world of coasting.

Quite sad to hear that the Intimidator I experienced opening weekend is no more.

Im not sure about the number of times the current crews have to use, but I remember last season when I was working at the now Boo Blasters and White Water each ride vehicle had to go through at least 3 or 4 cycles before the ride could open for guest riding.

Is there anything we can do concerning the second trim, or is everything pretty much set in stone?

Sometimes I just feel like cursing B&M for their obsessiveness with trims and calculability.

I think they turned that trim on so much is because it's starting to get warmer. I'm sure that by summer it will be going faster then is has been, so the trim won't be so bad. I also think the ride really hasn't been broken in much yet. I think it will be riding so much better next year if not the second half of the season. I personally havn't been yet, but hope to be there next month. I'm crossing my fingers that it will be near everything I've heard about it!

^ on a ride like Intimidator it's certain that the trims are computer controlled.

Why that computer-controlled speed limit is so low.... the ultimate question. We will probably never know until one of these ride op guys leaves the park or gets fired and makes another account ;).

I am not on the intimidator crew (unfortunately), but it seems ike everytime I go to the park and get there around 9:30 am they are testing. So I dont know how many rounds they make, but I guess they do it for at least 30 min? I have always wondered how much testing they have to do before they can let people on as well.

I think the main purpsoe of those trims is to give more airtime, I mean I remember when Goliath was built and that was a feature of the ride, the trim that allows more air-time. I dont know though, It does seem kind of slow, esp in the back, but I think its fine because the airtimes is amazing. Maybe at coasterstock they will turn them off....

Intimidator already crests all of its hills at a pretty slow speed anyways, for all intensive purposes it's a "float-fest" of big floaty hills. Trim's might be able to be used to turn an ejector hill into a floaty one but they certainly can't turn a floaty one into anything but a slowed down speed bump.

Even on opening day with light 2nd trim the return run was a few mph slower than what it could have been (think Intamin bunny hills and speed, the return run just isn't in that league at all) but I was ready to accept that because it's a B&M hyper, that's expected. If the return run is actually any slower now than it was on opening weekend I'm frankly surprised it isn't rolling backwards as the hill before the MCBR was already pretty much floatless to begin with.

Yea, label me "that negative guy," I don't care. It's just odd that I get off the coaster thinking - "hmmm 5 extra feet on that first hill would have made the whole thing flow perfectly, it's a bit too slow" - but B&M apparently gets off thinking - "hmmm we have too much airtime and excitement, let's tone that down immediately with a maintenance-requiring mechanical brake...." I guess they really view their hypers as family machines - an odd marketing idea considering the height turns so many people away - no one can really judge the airtime from the ground.

I say put more on them then. I am sure there is a reason why the trims are where they are. I can almost bet that come this weekend the trims will operate different. I caught afew test runs on the cam this week and no I do not park myself on the cam for hours on hours.

I say enjoy the ride myself but I am not really into parks like I was afew years ago. So I can see why peeps are upset at the trim grabbing hard but hey what can you do?
