I didn't like the concept at first but the more I read the more I was sold. It would be another really unique section that would set Carowinds apart from all the other parks. I also think it would be cool how it would give Camp Snoopy a little bit more meaning. Over all, well done

Yeah I will agree that "Plunge" suits a water slide or even a water ride more than a coaster, just due to the connotation of the word. But yeah, it would be cool if they could incorporate some Native American culture into the queue as theming. Maybe some Cherokee art in the queue.

My first idea for the land was "Port Carolinas", since Afterburn is themed to a navy fighter jet. The dive would have been purple and themed to a sea monster. But I thought it sounded too much like Carolina Harbor and I felt it would be too similar in appearance to that and the Boardwalk. So I changed the idea to Country Falls because I felt it would work better with Camp Snoopy nearby, and work as an extension of it in aesthetic rather than a detractor.

Tarheel I won’t even lie, that is absolutely fantastic. By the way I forgot to mention this but after seeing your first Planco Dive Coaster a week or so ago I started building Dive Coasters with wing overs after the MCBR

Glad to know I inspired you lol! I figured the wing-over would be more space-efficient than a standard drop, and be more unique while still being something B&M could realistically do. I’m surprised they haven’t done one on a dive already, though maybe Carowinds will be the first to build one :D

While I think it's a cool concept, I personally hope our next coaster *isn't* another B&M. I'd really like to see something from Gerstlauer, whether it be a Eurofighter/Infinity style (since a vertical lift hill is not only something the park lacks, but is visually striking to the GP and would look good from the highway) or a family launched coaster like Firechaser Express which would be a great addition for the smaller thrillseekers.

Yeah I could see how this would make the park B&M-saturated. But they’re reliable + high capacity, and the holding brake alone makes it a visual spectacular.

Then again, if we got a Gerstlauer instead, we could get an amazing lighting package from KCL :D

Build a B&M Dive and demolish Vortex so the park still has 4 B&Ms. Problem solved.

I don't know if that's a good fit for the park. Yeah, the closest one is at BGW but I dunno. To me, they are just BIG! Allow me to try to explain lol. I think they take up a lot of space for what they offer. Those small wing coasters do look fun though . . .

But yeah, since Copperhead seems to be the answer to a new multi looper, a med size dive coaster may work . . .

A wing coaster would be a huge hit for the park!!! Just look at gatekeeper being the most popular attraction at Cedar Point

Add a couple flats over there and it's complete. Great work!

I do agree with coasterbruh in the idea that's so spaced out. But I think if you add some other rides in those "empty" spaces, it'll fill up the space nicely.

Personally I hate the restraints on B&M Wing coasters, so I'm not particularly enthusiastic about getting one of those even if they're a lot of fun regardless. I think coasterbruh made this point some weeks/months ago, but the park really does need another "family" coaster with a relatively low height requirement that is also comfortable for tall people.

Does it really matter? How many people walking through the gate each day could even name a roller coaster manufacturer? Isnt what's important is that the park offers a wide variety of experiences, regardless of who builds each one?

My gut says they're going with a woodie for the park's next coaster. It ticks all the boxes of what the park's missing (though I'm aware that's not really the main thing that goes into selecting the next major attraction investment).

My guess would be a GCI in the vein of Gold Stiker/Mystic Timbers, but I could also see them going with an RMC or even a ground-up hybird (I also don't think an RMC Hurler, or even Hurler getting demolished, is entirely out of the question either).

If I could have anything I wanted, I think I'd go for a ground-up RMC dueling hybrid. It would NEVER happen, but man would it be awesome IMHO. And I still haven't completely given up the ghost on my launched flying coaster over the lake pipe dream either, don't @ me tho.

I’d love to see something like Joris en de Draak as the park’s next coaster, but my gut is telling me a dive coaster (which is why I went all out with that Planet Coaster project). I think the way the park’s been trying to position itself as a destination on the east coast, and with some of Cedar Fair’s recent investments (namely Valravn, Hangtime, and Yukon Striker), I feel like they’re going to want to be their next big investment to have clickbait potential. Dive coasters are exactly that: big, clickbait-y marketing gimmicks. Yukon Striker’s most viewed video has 16x more views than that of Copperhead Strike’s. Building a dive at Carowinds would further its position in the region as the park with the biggest and baddest thrill rides.
