I think we will see a splash battle or one of those tea cup water rides before a flume or a rapids though. I don't know the balance between how wet they get you but they do look visually appeasing.

I've ridden the SFSL one a few times. It conjures up the "You will get wet - you may get soaked" line. Getting wet is a given and getting soaked is a distinct possibility, especially when you consider there are water guns on the outside of the ride that guests in line or walking by can use.

I’d love to see a park build a large Non-Intamin rapids ride that incorporated a splash battle and those warred battle tea cup rides, as well as a splash play area for kids and adults.

I'd like to see something that can have interaction between riders and non-riders. I'm not a fan of water rides, but having something like that would be fun to me while the rest of my party is riding said water ride.

Well if you’re looking for that we used to have white water falls and rip Roarin Rapids has little guns that people could squirt water with at the riders.

So I had some thoughts rattling around in my head as far as what would be a good theme for a "Choose Your Own Adventure" style attraction like Forbidden Frontier, and the more I look at Cedar Point's new attraction, the more I think Pirate Island would be a really good concept to use.

Forbidden Frontier seems to really focus on discovering new things and character interactions, along with completing tasks/missions. It's also not really set in a specific time period or location, which allows them a lot of creative freedom. On top of that, the story is always changing throughout the day and the year, which means you'll never have the same experience twice.

I feel that Pirate Island as a theme affords the park that same freedom to create stories that aren't based specifically in Carolinian history. They can set the story on a hidden barrier island in the Outer Banks, shrouded in mystery and lost to time. The tasks can be built around discovering treasure that's spread throughout the island. New treasure maps are created for each day, and you have to piece them together by talking to the island inhabitants. Or you can just explore the shipwrecks at your own pace, or battle other guests with water cannons.

I still think no matter what the theme is, if we ever gets one of these areas, it should be in place of Rip Roarin' Rapids. That area is the most secluded in the park, so the isolation allows for more immersion. And it could potentially open up a pathway to Fury and the Thrill Zone from the front gate.

I’ve been told that they are in the process of figuring out how to get an RMC. They are confident they can get the funding. Cedar Fair really wants Carowinds to be the thrill capital of the south and is willing to continue to invest a lot of capital into it, more so than any other park.

Based off of what others have said, and the amount of track work/maintenance they’ve been doing to Hurler, if what you’re saying is true, we can rule out an RMC conversion.

If I had to guess, I think our next major coaster will be a ground up 20-25 million dollar RMC in the DA or RRR area. I think it would draw more of a crowd than a dive coaster.

Sounds to me you are wishing your wish into fruition. I don't think you know how new attractions come about. Carowinds doesn't have to "figure out" how to get money or how to get a particular ride.

Considering Disney sold around half a million Leave A Legacy etchings for Epcot for $35 each I highly doubt Carowinds could get the same amount of people to buy an engraving on a roller coaster support for $30.

But like most large businesses, projects and budgets are proposed, then approved (or rejected). It's not like someone can unilaterally decide to build a roller coaster on Carowinds/Cedar Fair's dime. I didnt take that comment to mean anything more than "get everyone to sign off on it", regardless of who exactly that everyone consists of. That is synonymous with "getting the funding", even if that's not how you might phrase it.
