One thing Gabed and I noticed as soon as we entered was that the plantation house is still standing, but completely empty. Although it was from a distance it appeared that even the ticket scanning devices were gone.

At scarowinds tonight and the substitute and its a mica nusance. People seem to not know where they are going and we're not well directed. There are three ticket booths and they look a bit like porta potties. The entrance is much more efficient, however. There are many computers set up under a pavilion to scan tickets. You enter between the 3 point challenge and intimidator.

The Plantation House is still standing but the exit cover is gone as is Guest Services and Thrillseekers Gift Shop. The bathrooms are still standing, and the temporary gate is confusing as hell. It makes entering Carowinds like entering a carnival. Yes I know....tem....po...ra...ry but still it seems ill planned.

Where are the lockers at the temporary gate, we couldnt find them. Also note that for the new bridge over the maintenance road to be wider Cinabon, Upgrade Services and the last Ice Cream shop will like be torn down.

Question......

So I know that there is a new temporary entrance to the park, but is the south gate usually open? I'm visiting the park today and I'd like to know.

According to a post on their fb page, the south gate is open every day and evening and the temporary entrance through the picnic area is open during Scarowinds.

I plan on going on November 1st, if all goes well. By then, most, if not all, of the front entrance should be gone.

Before the webcam went down today I noticed that in the lower right corner of the screen you could barely see the bathrooms or where they used to be because it looks like they have been torn down.

I will likely be there on the last day. I took my kids this past weekend for the kid stuff, they had a ton of fun, as always I may go this weekend, I havent decided yet. I am definately down for hanging out again with you guys if you want on the last day. Cant believe its almost time to close down, but we have a lot to discuss over the off season
