General Carowinds discussion

I guess it just depends on the person. I'm very strict when it comes to what I consider to be a coaster. As I've already stated, I personally believe that Larson Loopers and Disk'Os are flats. I also only consider dueling/racing coasters to be one coaster unless advertised otherwise or if the two have completely different layouts. (Dueling Dragons, Battlestar Galactica Coaster, etc.)

One makes a left turn and another makes a right, that's not really a different layout.

And I thought I was a Credit Whore...

Nope.. I believe going different directions makes them have a different layout.

Yes, they are similar but each can function independently of each other therefore making Thunder Road two, separate roller coasters sandwiched together that share some supports. I can see the argument for counting mobius coasters as one (ahem, SFMM's Twisted Colossus, Kennywood's Racer, etc) but when the two tracks do not touch, it's two coasters - regardless of how similar the layout is. It's like having a two bath house but saying you only have one bathroom because they both have a toilet, sink, and shower.

If those of you who count Thunder Road as one, will you change your mind when the coaster count at Carowinds drops from 14 to 12 next year?

I guess it's all up to personal opinion...
My opinion will stand next year, I'm not going to get butthurt because someone has a few extra credits (Even if I do consider it cheap)

It's two different coasters. Do you consider Hurler at Carowinds a separate coaster from Hurler at KD? What's the difference? You could theoretically move one side of Thunder Road to any other park and you would have no problem calling them two separate coasters. But if they are side-by-side, then you won't call them two separate coasters? I don't get that.

^The only way I can think to explain it without typing a full page is this. (Keep in mind that it makes sense to me and it might not to you)
The ride shares the same structure and layout, you wouldn't count all 4 prongs on a fork as a separate fork, they all are together to form the one fork or one coaster.
Not like this will matter when TR is finally a pile of ashes though...

If we're counting Thunder Road as two, then the count is going from 15 to 13. :P My reasoning for counting it as one is because it appears as one structure in the park and you couldn't literally move one side away from the other because it could possibly collapse.
