General Carowinds discussion

I’m not too surprised electro Spin is on the scheduled ride closures list. Since it doesn’t have a clear date for when it’s closed theres obviously a part or something that the ride is missing related to matinence. Hopefully this won’t be the next volcano...but considering it’s run at the park over the past two years and it’s downtime with a few problems, they could remove it if the matinence isn’t fixable.

God I hope not, it’s by far the best flat in the park. I could see them being willing to spend a little if needed given it’s one of the more popular rides in that part of the park

Season Pass Holder night has been officially ANNOUNCED and one thing that stands out to me is . . .
To make the night even sweeter, we'll be offering each attendee one $9.99 Bring-A-Friend coupon- valid any single day from March 23 - May 19, 2019*(while supplies last). Trust us; you’ll be a favorite among your friends!

What stood out to you? The "while supplies last"? I believe this coupon was distributed at least the last 2 years, maybe without a limited supply?

Maybe it's a first-come-first-serve? I know they've done this program for a while, but I've never heard them say "While Supplies Last" in relation to a bring-a-friend coupon.

I think that's Carowinds' way of being able to stop the program at any time. In today's digital world, "supplies" doesn't even matter. Right now, I don't even need any paper at all to go to practically any event of my choosing. Even if it was referencing a paper coupon, they can print them by the truck-load. (WIth a printer practically on every desk, gone are the days of ordering out for printed material and waiting a week or two (or more) for processing and delivery.)

Imaginary meeting inside a Carowinds meeting room:

Marketing: We've only got $1,000 to spend on the printing. That gives us 50,000 copies. We've got 60,000 season pass holders, so there's a very small chance we can run out.

Legal: If you don't add the "while supplies last" and, for whatever reason, you run out, then someone gets to deal with the fallout.

Marketing: Let's add it!

^ Pretty much. They’ll likely have enough for everyone, but put that in there for legal reasons. I think the park anticipates it being busy, and I do too as long as the weather is nice.

Speaking of the weather, I think we need a lot more mist machines and mist fans within the park- specifically in the queues for the rides. a lot of the fans are spread out and about a third of them don't even work.

because some people know people who know things.

Just because it isn’t listed on the website doesn’t make it gospel.

You do realize they do not just print these coupons at someone's desk? They are in fact ordered and delivered a week or two later.

why do you propose that? There are no dates of it being open at all.

There are people here who know people. We are very much appreciative of their info.

My guess is that Drop Tower is on that list because it has relatively low ridership compared to most of the other "big" rides in the park but still requires at least three staff to operate.
