General Carowinds discussion

I agree 1000% It is a horrible idea to remove that green space for an ugly, ugly Sky Coaster. I'd rather see that thing out in the parking lot with the asphalt. At this rate, Carowinds is going to look like a fair grounds.

Thank you very much Merthecat for saying that out loud because i sure was thinking it. I'm sorry but I have never felt an up charge attraction after spending so much to park and attend an amusement park. I almost have to pack a lunch right now to keep from starving to death during a visit. Man it's sad they are draining a perfectly good hole of water just to relocate an aging piece of scrap mental. Would this thing really be missed if if went away forever? Of course I'm scared of it too, so that could explain part of my bias towards it.

I do believe I see construction equipment. Hopefully the ride will be in by this week.

Dang, another sad day for lifelong fans of the park as yet more of the personality is lost. When will they realize most people don't want a generic park? Instead we want a park with its own style.

Ponds are nice but what the park really needs is TREES! I think the park should build a walk-way through the Intimidator field with trees everywhere. Something like the Canopy would be nice. Just a little walk through the woods. It would make a great scare zone too! The Thrill Zone also needs trees. There is no shade what-so-ever in that area. Also, there need to be more trees in Dinosaurs Alive. If I have to pay for it, I at least want to be able not to look at it from Afterburn and Intimidator. Keep it hidden. The best place for the skyflyer IMO would be in Kookaburra Bay's spot.

But trees block the view of rides....
Goldrusher has Always need more trees but more now than ever without the river next to it. Mine trains are much nicer in a "forest", see SFoG's mine train. Trees would also be a plus at Thunder Road's turnaround. Waterparks are guilty of mass tree removal too, shaded area would be welcome, to keep my feet from burning.

^I rode the Dahlonega Mine Train too. I went to SFOG over the summer. They have LOTS of trees and their mine train is great. I could care less if the view of rides are blocked though. The Skytower and Windseeker both give you a good view of the park so I don't think trees would affect it too much. I'm hoping the park will install a skyride soon though. A skyride is always a great way to see a park.
