I think it looks crowded because we aren't there in person. Looking at the plans, they are about 30' apart and there is plenty of room to walk around. It is really hard to get a sense of scale from looking at those camera views. The state line that runs down the middle should be about 2' wide when they get it done.
I, for one, am happy to see planters going in and some live vegetation. One of the reasons that I quit going to Carowinds for years was because it felt like an overpriced carnival in the middle of a parking lot. Everything was hot asphalt. One of the reasons that I love going to places like BGW and WDW is because it has lot of green space and flowers.
Finally, they are planting trees and really trying to beautify the park. I honestly think that when this is done we will be shocked when we see it in person and realize exactly how much has been done to improve Carowinds. It really is going to be the destination place it deserves to be.
