Yeah, that is what it looks like. I hate when coasters change names. I still call Afterburn, Top Gun. Southern Star will always be Frenzoid to me.

When I was there all the Intimidator mugs were $5 and BOGO free....so they just probably have a lot of overstock and may want to update next seasons merchandise.

Perhaps this is the second splash for 2016. And also why they didn't put a fresh coat of paint on over the last year or so. Could it be themed to the wright bros?

I doubt they would give a name like White Lightning to a red coaster. I really doubt they would have the coater repainted white, (or at least parts of it) when you already have Fury's white supports dominating the skyline.

If the Intimidator name does leave, I'm going to assume that it will still be themed around racing, just more generically. Kinda like when the Top Guns were given new names and themes that still had something to do with flight. If they keep the racing theme, they won't have to redo the entire plaza, gift shop, and train decals. Instead they'll just have to alter them slightly by removing all association to the number 3 and Dale's signature.

Ugh, I hope they keep the name. I'd hate for Cedar Fair to go all BLSC and strip the train design.

I'm actually hoping they repaint the track. It's about due for some paint, it looks more like pink now, and with the re-theming I'd love to see a more original color scheme. Although I we're getting "Carolina Harbor next year I'm not going to hold my breath.

White Lightnin' had a red train. Plus Intimidator needs a paint job anyways. When was Nighthawk repainted?

Maybe Intimidator could be renamed to Thunder Road. The general public will ride and say "I don't remember Thunder Road being so smooth!".

If they are going to rename it, they better repaint it too. Like someone else just pointed out, the thing looks pink.

I would have a lot easier time calling Top Gun it's new (and terrible) name if it were painted with a different color scheme.
