uhhh we were told since we were DONATING to a charity it was tax detuctable so unless you are a tax underwriter I suggest you not shoot from the hip and bring forth proof that its NOT...

Since it went to charity, I'd just put in my taxes as a cash contribution to that charity. As you know, if you get audited you need to have a receipt showing that you donated that money.

Hopefully you didn't pay in cash. If not it should be pretty easy to track down. I can pull up statements from nearly everything online for the past year when I need to look up something like this.

I have done a number of these Charity Rides on various rides at various parks. Even if you made the check out to Carowinds with the understanding that the money is going to whatever charity then yes it is a tax deduction minus the price of a one day admission. Even if you do have a season pass you still have to minus the price of a one day ticket, but you can have up to $500 bucks donated to Charity without a receipt per say. I did not do a Charity ride last year so there might be changes to it that I am not aware of.
