Has anyone on here ridden Rougarou yet? I am going to Cedar Point this summer and I was wondering how this compares to other floorless coasters and the other rides at Cedar Point.

^^I think it might be different to compare, to be honest. Because it was a stand-up coaster, the heartline will now be off center and may provide a different feel than most other floorless coasters.
But I'm not 100% sure on that one.

Everyone I've talked to has said the ride is much better now as a floorless. The trim on the first drop is no more, it runs fast, and its a marked improvement over Mantis, which was aweful. I can't wait to ride in a few weeks.

FLASHBACK into the past...I love see the history of great parks. The who what, when, where, why and how they started. The drought seasons to almost permanent closures, what rejuvenated the park into a surplus of visitors and overhauling the park after the drought seasons. I just love it all. Thought I'd drop this here for you all to enjoy. No need in starting a new thread.

Basically the world famous Cedar Point as we know it today really only dates back to the 60s. The other 90s were spent trying to find themselves. Lol

As for Rougarou, CP took what was a Boeing, painful ride with a lot of real estate and turned it into something fun, forceful, and reridable. Now that real estate is more valuable.

I know as fact that they haven't considered RMCing Mean Streak, but now that they have one successful transformation on their hands, I hope they consider another one in a few years.

The park's general manager, Jason McClure, described the transformation as like “trading in a box truck for a Corvette.” He added, “You're still on the turnpike, but it's a completely different experience,” McClure said. Witherow said Cedar Fair plans to do the same with other aging coasters in its portfolio, including one next year at its park near San Francisco.

What does this mean for our Vortex?

Wow that's a pretty huge quote. Definitely intriguing if their Vortex gets it since it's just as small as Carowinds. I also wouldn't discount the possibility of RMC and Grizzly. I know all the RMC rides seem accounted for for next year, but you never know...

I think Grizz just got major work (but, then, so did TR).

Actually, tho, I'm under the impression CF hasn't spoken to RMC about anything in the chain.

But, boy, I really hope they transform our Vortex (regardless of what Amos says ).
