General Carowinds discussion

So fury just got stuck a little before the crest of the hill and the whole park almost came to stop. everybody is pulling out phones, taking pictures and pointing. Ive heard many say that's why I'm not getting on it. Lol it's been about 10 mins now tho smh. I guess it's a big issue bring that carowinds have been in the news a few times due to rides stopping or "getting stuck."

Went to Carowinds on Friday.... got there around 12pm and dropped my jaw !!! The new lot was full and the bus lot was loaded with buses !!! What the heck ??? !!!!

Went in the park (FREE due to Coke Rewards... thanks Coke!  ) with wife and 2 friends. Kids were everywhere :wtf: :wtf: - but in groups with T-Shirts identifying their band, orchestra or choral group!!! Must've been some competition there yesterday!
Also, there was science exhibits near the entrance after the old bridge, so must've been a science day also!

So I expected a line a mile long for Fury, but SURPISE !! It is a walk-on.... ALL DAY !!! :D :D :D :D All these kids have chaperones and have to stay in groups.... I saw them parading around the park with instruments... heading to competition ( I guess in the Carowinds Theatre ). Also, with Chaperones, they could not wander around to ride. So, ALL the rides were walk-ons!!!

Now to Fury! I am on old geezer, and Fury is a very smooth and QUICK ride... over before you know it !!!  It is a BLUR to watch in the 1st half of the run. I rode it half of my time with my arms up, feet out, and it is very comfortable, but out of control that way! The other half, I hung on to the lap restraint, which causes an abrupt ejector air when you hit the transition changes, and especially the hills in the last third of the ride! I mean, it jerks you forward and OUT of the seat.  I like it much better that way.... so HANG on to get your rear tossed out of the seat!!!

Is it the best steel in the world??? Don't know... .haven't ridden them all !!   But out of the steel I've ridden that is Giga, it is THE BEST, no doubt !!!

Was anyone on the train? It's empty now but still stuck just before the drop.

Yeah there was no point during the WHOLE DAY that it was a "walk on". I rode it once in the morning...once at noonish..and once at night...Packed all three times.

While lines were generally short, I was at the park Friday night from 6 to 10 and Fury was not a walk-on for me, either. Wait times seemed to be 10 to 20 minutes. A lot of rides were walk-ons. To me, a walk-on is when I can walk into the station and find at least one empty queue lane, so that the only wait is for a train to roll in to be loaded. That said, I know I have been spoiled by the short lines the last two Friday nights. We waited almost as long for Ricochet as Fury. :) And we had one long wait for Intimidator but that was thanks to a patron losing supper.

This is somewhat off topic for this thread but did anyone happen to notice the basketball that was thrown onto the Carolina Cyclone's track? It would take crazy skill to get it where they got it but it shut down the ride for like the whole day.

When did that happen? I didn't see it and everytime I walked past it, it was up and running. I rode it just after lunch.

See....it those damn balls! Ban them and then get off my yard.

Well, ya'lol miss the fools at Whitewater Falls! They "dropped" a basketball from the queue to the water twice. Both times one of them climbed the fence and got it. Thankfully it didn't go into the track area.
