The Ariel Chase track needs to be taken care of. If you look at it while on the ride it's absolutely disgusting, And I know Roller Coaster tracks are supposed to get dirty and have tar on it but this one is insane. I don't think they did anything with the track other then paint it since its been bought from Paramount. Water has come in contact with that track ALOT since it used to be a ride where you get sprayed. If they just gave the ride some TLC it wouldn't be a head banger, but for now it' a head banger for sure.

No announcement date set yet. Cadi40 . . . Huh!?!? It sounds like you think it was the former saturator that was demolished. From my understanding, the headbanging is due to the train design as its sorta designed for kids, well shorter guest. I have been on a vekoma Jr suspended coaster with just the lap bar and it was much more enjoyable.

I figured we would have some teases by now. I have seen some for Scarowinds but nothing for 2018.

Well, the demographic it's targeting doesn't require much teasing. But I think come august we should start seeing stuff.

The black stuff on the coaster isn't tar. It is most likely a mixture of dirt, dust and grease.

The trains are lubricated in specific places to reduce friction.

Aerial Chase opened in 2003 while the Saturator(the one that involved water) opened in 2000 and was removed in 2008. Last I heard Setpoint brought the ride back from Carowinds because they wanted to get back in the coaster business.

Flying Ace Aerial Chase has been painted since Cedar Fair took over. It was still yellow/green prior to the 2009/2010 off season when they made the area Planet Snoopy.
Of course as mentioned above it was not the Flying Super Saturator before (made by another company and was in operation where Flying Cobras now sits), it was called Rugrat's Runaway Reptar before when the supports were green.
Also to fix the headbanging, they'd need to upgrade to the new trains with lapbar restraints. It doesn't matter how smooth they get the track, Vekoma's headbanging OTSR's are the most dreadful restraints I've dealt with thus far.

My bad. I have always thought that it was the super saturator. I Wander why...Reguardless, It's a head banger and deserves a re-theme and some TLC.

Setpoint did not buy Saturator back. It was scrapped. I actually emailed setpoint and have been talking with a guy from the company. He even sent me some goodies including a gimble bearing, hat, pen, and a thumb drive. He told me it was scrapped.

Could it have been Roller Soaker?

Are they staying out of the coaster business?

Saturator was just a ok coaster, but it had terrible capacity and needed atleast some padding on the seats.

I have vague memories of seeing it as a child but never got to ride it. How was the experience with the water? Were the fixtures always working? How accurate was the water dump thing?

1) It was fun when the ride wasn't down and it was hot. If the water wasn't on or it was cold then the ride was nothing special.

2) No, for most of the 2006 they were disabled due to calcium build up in the water system.

3) I remember missing my target nearly every time.
