Now that is funny, all the have to do is center Tower, remove Zone: Stunt from the sign. I wonder how long it will be before parks(other than SFKK) start removing Giant Drops? I think it would be cool if Drop Zone was replaced with a Turbo Drop and Space Shot complex.

I have given up on what Cedar Fair is trying to do. It's clear they don't even know and clearly have more than they can chew.

Drop Tower sounds stupid but it's Cedar Fair. Stupid names from stupid people. Why not just change After Burn back to Flight Deck.

What is so bad about Drop Tower, that is what a lot of the call it anyway. The ride is a tower and drops you. It makes perfect sense to me. It is just the name of a ride, not a long standing name of the park. BTW, has your ship set sail yet?

It's not really so much the name it's that there was no reason to change it. The name is ok just saying DZ sounds alot better than DT.

My ship leaves soon but don't worry. I'll have plenty of computer access while on the ship so everyone wont miss me.

The funny thing is that people seem to complain that Cedar Fair doesn't know what they're doing, etc. But, most of those people have been running parks a lot longer than some of you have been alive. Sure, we might not understand why they're doing some of the things that they're doing. But, they have their reason.

Common sense seems to point to this reason being a "rights" issue. I can see why Drop Zone was changed. I might not like the new name either. But, we're stuck with it. They're going to do what they think they have to do. To me, the "rights" issue is probably the biggest issue they've had to face since buying the parks. We were told a long time ago that the names might change. Its taking place. Imagine what will happen if they decide to get rid of the Nick branding!

Experience or not, it's becoming painfully clear that the imagination level at Cedar Fair headquarters is quite low. That said, I kind of suspect that "Drop Tower" is a placeholder until they come up with another name. Maybe not...

Oh god, that issue has been touched on before, I don't remember if it was here. I am willing to bet that day is coming before May 2010. I wonder if what would have happened *if* the Paramount license and the Nick license had not been part or the deal to begin with or Cedar Fair had not brought it. I could only imagine the scramble that would have been.

That's what I was thinking of at one point, Jonathan. I really can't see calling something "Drop Tower" for any length of time. Then again, who knows. I've always wondered if they were going to slowly change these parks over to "Cedar Fair" style (more trashcans) and have a "re grand opening" for them at some point in some manor.

Still, the next few years are going to be interesting.

I don't personally have a problem with re-naming, it's just the way they're doing it. Like they did with Geauga when they purchased it, re-use names instead of thining of something new.

Heck, why not just have each individual park have a contest to re-name the rides and give away a season pass? It's worked before *cough*Kennywood*Silverwood*cough*.

It can't be that hard to come up with original names for these rides, it isn't like they're re-naming EVERYTHING.
