General Carowinds discussion

This is my first time posting on the site. Everything looks great and I'm glad to be here. I know most people on here are intrestedin the rides and that's great but being that I have been in Carowind's shows from 2000 all the way up until 2002, I would like to know what people think about the continuing disappearance of shows and stages throughout the park. For what I have heard 2004 brings a show back to the Paramount Theater called "Spellbound" which is some sort of a magic show which invloves quite a few dancers. I also heard this was a flop up in King's Island. A country show will return which will be named "CMT Presents: Turn It Up!" and the show in Kid's Studio will be named "Slimetime" However, both Slimetime and country show will split the same cast as Young Country and "Vibe" did last year. Does anyone know if there is any hope for a return of more shows in 2005?

Not sure, but it is nice to see that there will be different shows next year to check out and that they will be using the Paramount Theater again. I'm glad we are getting a Slimetime show. If it's the same/similiar as the ones at PKI, PKD, and PGA, it should be good. I think that is a popular show at those parks. I wouldn't be suprised if we see special events, like the Tomb Raider show, that travel to all the parks throughout the season for next year. Hopefully in the future we will see a stunt show, like Tomb Raider, become a permanent show in the park.

I look forward to some new shows. They are good to watch while your eating and offer another attraction for those who come with friends or families and don't or can't ride.
As far as the disappearence of stages I have not noticed, but then again we have not had any good shows to really watch lately. I am not a country fan at all, sorry.

Carowinds' shows are so bad that I don't go to them, I won't miss them when they are gone. But if they had a permanate stunt show and a slime time, that would be a different story...

Well supposedly we are getting a Slime Time show, and the Spellbound Show, which is from Las Vegas so it has to be decent.

I doubt we'll ever see the number of shows that we had in the late 80s or early 90s again.

This is mainly because in-park entertainment is on it's way out. The crowds that the park attracts today are much more fast paced than they were a few years back, and therefor the park does not need to offer a large amount of shows and such, because not as many people will come and see them.

Evan some of the show parks out there, like Busch Gardens and Dollywood, have cut back on the amount of entertainment they offer over the last few years.

I'm glad the Paramount Theater won't sit empty another year. Maybe Carowinds will eventually get some nice show like Paramount On Ice again some day.

Stunt Show all the way! Something like Indiana Jones at Disney's MGM Studios.

<Off Topic>I was just looking through RCDB and the have TCFKAS listed as Unknown, now I do know that the name is gonna have something to do with Star Trek, but wouldn't it be cool if they named it Unknown or The Unknown or The Unknown Zone. They could keep the colors and most of the same scenery they were planing to do and make it a Sc-Fi themed ride. This would kinda be like Microsoft, how they called the X-Box the X-Box during it's design period and were planing to rename it eventually to something else, but then they decided that they couldn't come up with anything better than X-Box and they thought it was a cool name so they kept it.<Off Topic>
