Who's your favorite coaster manufacturer and why?

These companies have coasters at Carowinds.

I will probably get Bashed for saying this, but out of those, ARROW is my favorite manufacturing company.

I know that most Arrows are incredibly rough, don't age well, and have bad transitions, but think about it. Without Arrow, we probably would not have seen the corkscrew in '75, the tubular steel track in '59, or the Log Flume in the 60s. They were also the first company to send riders over 200ft in the air, or suspend them below the track as well. (Not including the SCs in the early 1900s)

Sure, these things would have shown up eventually, but Arrow was the company that can be credited for pioneering the modern Roller Coaster. (Although Schwarzkopf could put up a good argument with that.)

(BTW, Anton Schwarzkopf Coasters are actually my fav, but it's not up there)

It really made me sad to hear that Arrow went bankrupt, particularly after 1999's Tennessee Tornado, and X at Magic Mountain. They were trying to make a comeback, but, unfortunatly, it was just a little too late.

Do you guys get it.....why do you post whatever comes to your minds!!

4) Staying On Topic
The community is to be used for discussing Paramount's Carowinds and things directly related to Paramount's Carowinds. Anything unrelated should be posted elsewhere, as there are uncountable numbers of general discussion forums on the Internet. This also pertains to topics directly intended toward other users. If you have something you want to tell another user, including the board administrator, use the email function on the forums.

I dont see how anyone can misunderstand that. Its clear as day that the threads should stay on topic with Paramount's Carowinds. Man i wish Jon would totally enforce the guidelines. As of right now i feel they are a joke and were a waste of time putting up.

If you want to discuss things like that you can go <a href='http://coasterbuzz.com/forum.aspx?mode=topics&ForumID=11' target='_blank'>here</a> or heck <a href='http://sixflagsnews.com/boards/index.php?showtopic=4264&hl=company' target='_blank'>this</a> is even better for it provides you with everything your asking here. I think im gonna be like the late carowindszone and start me a preservation - the thread preservation!!

Arrow has manufactured Three Rides currently at Carowinds, B&M has manufactured Two, Intamin has Three, Vekoma has One, and PC has had Schwarzkopf rides in the past.

Seems related to Carowinds.

like B&M the most, they're really smooth and extremly fun(like top gun).

i don't think arrows are that rough, take cyclone for instance that's not too rough(they just gotta put padding on the restraints)

Yeah, it's smooth until the last helix, is that because they didn't put the helix together well, or because the train is moving slower, or what?

it's probably that it wasn't put together well,or it's just rough form 23 years of abuse lol.

which rides are from intamin?

I think Whitewater Falls and Rapids are Intamin rides, but I'm not sure.

I was just looking at the intamin site and it puzzled me because the Intamin stand-up looks so much like a B&M one. If I didn't know that it was an Intamin, I would think that it is a B&M

Take a look here <a href='http://www.intaminworldwide.com/i_products_roller.htm' target='_blank'>http://www.intaminworldwide.com/i_products_roller.htm</a>

Yeah, It looks cool, but when you see the video (here:<a href='http://www.thorpepark.com/park_guide/thorpe_park_television.asp' target='_blank'>http://www.thorpepark.com/park_guide/thorp..._television.asp</a>) it dosen't seem that cool because the inline twists are a little redundant. Besides, carowinds already has a sit-down looper-the cyclone, they have no need for a 10-looper, although it would be cool to tear down the cyclone and build the "Carolina Cyclone's Revenge!" lol!

The Intamin stand-ups were all (all 3 of them) built before B&M left Intamin to start their own company. They are:

<a href='http://rcdb.com/installationdetail53.htm' target='_blank'>Batman: The Escape</a> (which will be a lot less rusty next year....getting a new paint job...which will probably be the same or similar to Cobra)
<a href='http://rcdb.com/installationdetail189.htm' target='_blank'>Cobra</a>
<a href='http://rcdb.com/installationdetail814.htm' target='_blank'>Shockwave</a>

Shockwave is the only standup with an inline twist and Cobra and BTE appear to be clones.
