A friend of mine in the area said that there's a crane up by Thunder Road.

It looks like they are finally replacing the sign on the lift.

Not that I know of, but it's been off the ride for about 3 years now.

Ohh... you mean the other sign? ;)

It was there in 2002 and then they removed it. Why?

Somebody here said it had been removed for repainting...apparently they are just now getting around to putting it back up.

The sign was never replaced because of the cost. PP would not spend the money. There a good bit of track work going on at TR however im not sure if the sign has been orderd. There are quite a few who have wanted it replaced and if it hasnt been ordered probably will soon.

I didn't realize a sign cost THAT much...I mean, what an expense that would have been for them. Man, they would have drained all their funds for that. Good thing they didn't replace it or we might not have gotten the phantom flyers :P

Actually I have pictures of the sign on there as late as opening day 2005, and missing around closing day 2005. If I recall correctly it was badly damaged in a storm around August or September of that year and they never got around to replacing it.

But the real question is though, what happened to HURLER's sign.. That one I have pics of on closing day 2004 and gone opening day 2005, and as far as I know it wasn't damaged...

I forgot about that sign. Can you post a picture of it?

When the coaster first opened, wasn't there a "Burma Shave' sign after the "on Thunder Road" segment? I swear there. Swampie, do you remember?
